I'm reading this as I munch on an afternoon snack of unblanched whole almonds. Actually I prefer to think of it as "the rest of my lunch."
Anyway, on none of the one-page lists easy to access have I found nuts listed, either in the DO or the DON'T category. I know that calorie-wise, nuts are costly, and also they can cause over-indulgence for unrepentant snackers. So I looked up the stats on Fitday. Here's what I found:
1/4 cup unblanched whole almonds, 205 calories, 7 total carbs, 4.2 fiber, 7.5 protein. Not bad for carbs, and some nutritional value.
Probably this one is a personal call. But...nuts can be dangerous, right? Is this 205 additional calories (yes, they probably do count) worth it? Hmmmm. I shove the rest of the dish out of sight.
