At least Europe is leading the way.

I've come up with real foods I can easily make. I will make any kind of omelette in a mug. Okay, sometimes it's a big crustless quiche

I think that's how vegan bakeries are now so big. I can't stand vegan soup: loaded with sugar. But now, they pretend vegan is a magic stamp they can put on their treats: and now they are healthy.

This is just a random thought I had this morning when getting some frozen berries to add to my plain greek yogurt.

My mind was doing that early morning mish-mash of thoughts, and mashed up the "Cordon Blur" in the title of this thread and "Blueberries" to come up with...

BLUR-BERRIES: Berries made from meat!

If the vegans can come up with names for fake meat trying to make it sound like meat, what's stopping the LC/Keto crowd from coming up with meat based foods that sound like plants?

(I mean other than the fact that would go against our food principles - meat is meat, plants are plants, and we're not trying to fool anyone into eating real meat.)

Just thought I'd share -

Carry on!

Oat Milk, Soy Milk, it isn't milk and shouldn't be called milk IMO.

But as long as special interest groups are allowed to pour millions of dollars into the campaign funds of political candidates, the USA will be governed by huge corporations instead of the voters.

Labeling is how we fight back. Europe is a template for legislation, and we should follow.

If it was "grain processed to a faux dairy product" how would that go over?

I was in marketing, though on the non-profit end. But I can tell you it would not be as pretty.

Why are these anti-meat people opposed to using non-meaty names? If only plants are so fantastic, say what the edible object is, not what it is not!

I think it's the same impulses that have derailed many a low-carber: that urge to "fit in" and eat the same way "everyone else" does. I watch Youtube where they eat as they have always done... only now it's cheaper vegan versions of the usual. Going to heck in a faster handcart.

I have a twisted fascination for the real lives of vegans. Some of them are the serious type who take three hours to make a perfect nut casserole, combine all their proteins, and take the recommended supplements. Much like the (much nicer!) vegetarians I've known to approach their version.

But I would say most of them are here for the full embrace of grains and sugar, where they decide anything plant is good for them. So they eat their vegan fast food and get even sicker.

But they will never believe it as long as zillions of dollars are spent telling them they are the most ethical of all beings. They didn't realize they are martyring themselves for the cause, but deep down we all know fast food kills.
