I agree! But generally speaking, a spoonful at a time for cooking or flavoring does the trick.
No one ever seems to mention this either, but I'd like to stress that if you're pan frying with coconut oil, always heat the oil slowly and gently, medium to low, not at a high setting. It splatters violently!! If you must set it high, like if you're searing, keep the pan covered and then turn off the heat and let it settle down before removing the lid.
