"Optimal nutritional ketosis" is 1.5-3 according to Phinney,

I'd like to see Phinney's data. AFAIK this has never been peer reviewed. I'd like to be corrected.

Do a PubMed search for each name individually as they have many studies not done jointly.

Here is a link to the paper https://www.dropbox.com/s/ozbkbj6j3...sponse.pdf?dl=0 that most cite for "Optimal nutritional ketosis". It is generally not available online and I had to go to my research librarian for a copy. The data isn't there. Maybe it's somewhere else.

You're welcome, Thomas. So give us an update. Are both fasting and PP BG coming down? Are you losing weight? Do you think the AD fasting protocol has helped you? cheers,

How fantastic, Lovinta.

If I have any doubts about what I'm doing, Dr. B's book scares me straight.

Hi Jey100,
On 5/6 I'm going on a 7 day fast (water only), let's see what that does to my Ketone state. This should be interesting and I'm amazed that my doctor said ok, but for only seven days . I take my BG reading 3x a day along with my blood pressure. The VA has me on a device that checks both BP and BG every day. Talk to you in a week.
Thanks for your attention. Thomas1951.

You're a better man than I I've only done 48 hr, but others on the Dr Fung thread have done 7 days if you have questions. Dr Fung's protocol allows extras like broth and tea. Cool machine from the VA, Assume they're OK if BG is low to drop all insulin? You read negative stories of care at VA yet Dr Westman and Yancy did some of their clinical trials with clients at the one here; it appears some great doctors and services are available too. Best on your fast,
