Default 2 Meals a Day - good or bad?

I've never been a three meal a day person... its rare that I eat three regular meals a day. I work second shift and ten hour days so I have mid morning meal which is typically my breakfast/lunch. I have a mid afternoon snack now- but not everyday ...either a small bit of veggies or pork skins and then I have dinner before I go home.

Atkins encourages 3 meals a day but am I doing any harm to my weight loss by not eating that often? I'm not intentionally skipping meals or trying to starve myself, I eat when I feel like it.

It is recommended not to go more than 6 hours without eating.

Actually I have found I need to up calories and fats to lose so I think you may have problems.

You may want to read up on CAD - seems more lax about skipping meals...

Why not start a journal and post some of your daily meals so we can see if maybe we can help out.

I think that one of the great things I've gotten from my experience with low carbing is that once I eliminated the hunger pangs that a hi-carb diet produced what hunger I do now feel is "true hunger". I try to pay attention to those signals now and feed my body when it's hungry and don't eat when it's not! Although most people would probably argue that it's best to eat small meals more often to keep your metabolism rev'd up, I don't think you're doing yourself "harm" by only eating twice a day....as long as you're not ignoring hunger signals and your calorie needs are covered adequately in those two meals. That is most important.

Lisa I started my journal yesterday and only have today's meals so far in there. I haven't eaten my dinner yet so its not in there.

I was thinking of supplementing with a shake a day to make up for the missed meal?
