Day 51 of my "It's time to lose some weight" Challenge

Wednesday: on-target on every point. I had another problem last night at 3am - waking up hungry and not being able to fall back asleep. I got up to eat a high protein meal the equivalent of a breakfast. I fell asleep fine after that. Then I ate another breakfast at the usual time before work. If I watch the carbs closely tonight I should be able to salvage a good day.

So this 'waking up starving' thing has happened twice in the past week. This is certainly not my norm. What's new is that I've intensified my workouts considerably. I'd been easing back into a weight lifting & jogging routine since late May, but this past week I ramped up both activities. My last two trips to the Y have included 'feel the burn' upper body strength training to failure and a 2 mile jog. Eating less I haven't been getting as much protein. When I was doing carnivore last year I was eating at least 200g of protein daily. Recently protein has been only around 125g. That may be my problem. I'll try upping the protein significantly after a workout to see if that helps.

Days at or under 20 carbs: 44
Days with good portion control: 47
Days avoiding my "Problem" LC foods: 47

This was GOING to be day one but I blew it. That's okay. I think I'll try actually getting THROUGH one day before counting it as such......or writing it down here.

I do actually feel pretty good tonight though. My head is clear, that's a rarity!LOL

My goals remain the same:
No wheat, tater tots, bananas or chips....

I choose to eat it.) tonight: all good, but too many drinks *** I have to revise this: In an insane moment I ate a sugary dessert as well. I must have been abducted by aliens.

Default calling it

I am calling it a day early. I did pretty well for most of this round foodwise - but since sister has moved in, I haven't done as well. Alcohol was successful for the most part until the move... exercise has fallen by the wayside and I would like to get that going. The biggest success was the cleaning habit. Sister is helping me with it, showing me what she does - so that has been good, something got cleaned daily.

I will most likely start a new round Wed July 1. It does help me be more mindful.

Well I ACTUALLY made it through a day with no wheat etc., so That makes

DAY ONE

No wheat
Bagels
Tater Tots
Bananas
Chips

My gut issues started acting up again after eating wheat, tater tots and bananas too many days.

I put some already roasted chicken breast which is hard as a rock from being in the refrigerator into some water with curry and microwaved it a few minutes. It actually boiled....I try to get the fat off and let it float to the top as my gut doesn't handle fat very well.

My budget is tighter next month as I have car registration and a smog test so I'm not sure how much I can spend on food for myself. I may have to just eat off of what is available around here....I like to usually buy some hamburger and some unbreaded chicken patties.......

Day 55 of my "It's time to lose some weight" Challenge

Friday was good. I was busy getting ready for a road trip, did some driving (no snacks) and packed a small dinner. Saturday & Sunday were fails as far as this challenge is concerned. I did not log, I ate out for meals, I did snack and likely ate too much. I also had some LC sweetened things (off plan). It was a low carb weekend, just not low enough and not in the zone I want to be in for weight loss. I'll have to plan better for the next road trip.

Days at or under 20 carbs: 45
Days with good portion control: 49
Days avoiding my "Problem" LC foods: 49

Good job making it through your challenge, Kat. I'll see you in July. I'll be here. This challenge does help keep me focused on what I'm trying to do - even if I don't always do it.

Practice plan thru September 30.

Alternate Day Fasting - Monday, Wednesday and Friday (ADF M-W-F). Same as Quarter 2 of 2020. Also on eating days trying to keep protein at around 1g/lb body weight - which is higher than suggested but with fasting who knows.

Tracking below. First line is days of week, lines below them are hits and misses for the days that week. I'll note if it was 24 or 36hr fast.

X = 24-36hr Fast
O = Eat

MTWTFSS

==== Notes Below ====

Giving the same practice another go, might do more 24's than 36's - I'll track those here. I think it's a good idea not to eat all the time. I did that at the cabin the last week

mviesprite - nice work on practice period
dk_swan - best wishes and good luck on this session

Day 56 of my "It's time to lose some weight" Challenge

Eating was OP yesterday - 15 net carbs, 2400 calories, plus a 2 mile jog and weight lifting at the Y. 21K steps. June is almost over. I lost a few pounds in May. June has been flat. Though I've had better consistency since starting this challenge I think that I've let what I consider an 'acceptable' volume of food creep higher in recent weeks. The average has me at the break even point. Not gaining is better than nothing, But if I want to see progress I'm going to have to put a lower cap on the average daily food. July will require smaller dinners and more IFs.

Days at or under 20 carbs: 46
Days with good portion control: 50
Days avoiding my "Problem" LC foods: 50

Good OP eating and a nice workout yesterday. July I will be tightening up the diet. More protein - less fat and less fiber. No mug muffins.

Days with good portion control: 51
Days avoiding my "Problem" LC foods: 51
