YEAH!! NON smoker. So great!!!
congrats, you are there. My dad told me it takes 6 weeks to break a habit when he quit smoking in the 80s. I think you might have beat this already. Hey, go shopping with the money you save on cigs. Buy some new clothes. Some cute winter stuff is coming out plus, if you are like me, some of the summer stuff is going on sale, big time. Good on you!!!
keep it up ,it is so worth it..one of my tricks was realizing that those intense cravings didnt really last very long...wait them out a few minutes then you are fine...not saying that you wont have many of those moments in a day...but its so so so worth it...congrats to all "quitters and losers"

I quit using tobacco on March 10th 2008 after 29 years. Cold turkey. My doctor told me he would not do my much needed leg surgery unless I quit 6 weeks prior.
I have used my fast acting asthma inhaler 3 times in 6 months, and have not used my daily Advair inhaler even once!! I used to use both inhalers 2-4 times daily.
Caffeine and sugar followed. I now have 1 cup of coffee a week and no sugar. None of this was easy for me but I was stuck on the second floor of a condo in a cast with no elevator and in a wheelchair for 2 months unable to bear weight on 1 leg. I don't suggest this method for anyone else but it sure worked for me..

Since June 3rd.
One cheat.
Somewhere in Aug.
I can't explain how much I LOVED smoking.
Yet that morning in early June, I just knew. No more.
There was no building up to it, now preparative psychology. That was just it I guess.
So far, I still think about it. Some-days are still a battle.
But I'm feeling freeee!! Which gives me leverage over long haul cravings.

YAY to all of you. Whether you decided enough was enough (that was me too) or you were kind of forced to in order to have surgery, the result was the same. No smoking. I love saying I am a non smoker. It took me a long time to want to say that because, what if I started again. When I felt there was no way I would start again, I said I was a non smoker and it's been the best year ever. I smoked for 22 years so it was giving up a friend.. but the cig was not a friend. I used to say i enjoyed smoking but what I really enjoyed when I was able to look at it objectively was not having the craving to smoke. Well since that only happened when I smoked I figured I enjoyed the smoke. Well no cravings at all. I only thing about it when I read this blog but I like to because it's nice to know that we can do it. Good luck to all of you quitters.

yOu,
Contrats to you!! You smoked for 29 years and just gave it up. Me too after 22 years. What the heck were we doing that for??? I wish I took all the money I have saved over the last year and bought myself something nice. But somehow it just gets spent on the same stuff. But I got my hubby to stop last December so it is a total non smoking house. Now I can be one of those annoying people that make you stand outside to smoke. Gosh, when I smoked I hated that. LOL

You should do the happy dance Gem. It's so fun not to be chained down to those nasty things. I have a lot of friends that still smoke and probably always will. I want to scream. THIS is so much better. But you have to want it for yourself. U obviously do so congrats and celebrate today!!!
