It's wonderful to find such an incredibly large board devoted to the low carb lifestyle. I don't have much to say right now because I have SO much reading to do. I'm so glad you all are here!

I am still hanging in there with this.... I am getting where I get dizzy often and my appetite is low usually.... the weight loss has been great.... I am now on my 15th day and I have lost 14 pounds in 14 days thus far.

I was wondering what others lost during the 2 week induction period and also whether anyone stayed on 20 or less carbs a day for muich longer than the 2 weeks.... I honestly hate to increase my carbs when I am losing so well and have so much left to lose.

lannie...that's great progress...

I actually just completed 14 on monday (6/24) i only lost 6.5 lbs.. and i've decided to stick with induction for a little while longer...in the atkins' book they give a story about somebody that stayed on induction for 2 yours.. so stayin on induction for a couple of extra weeks or even months is cool as long as u can handle it...

best of luck...

Hi Maddie,

CAD stands for the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet. You'll find more info here: http://www.lowcarb.ca/atkins-diet-a...te-addicts.html

Hi, I'm new to this forum and looking forward to browsing and doing even more reading

Started Atkins two and a half weeks ago and have dropped 16 lbs so far, I'm delighted and amazed, not just at the weight loss but how much better I feel in myself, my energy levels are up, cravings have totally disappeared and I'm really enjoying myself!

Good luck to everyone with the LC plans

John

Maybe you lose less because you have less to lose to reach your goal... I read that you can expect to lose 10% of your excess weight in the first 2 weeks...and that is about what I lost... from your stats it appears that you also lost about 20% in that time so you are doing very good actually.

I am always worried about hidden carbs... also it is hard for me to drink so much water but I am trying.... I have any artifical sweeteners and I drink my coffee with heavy cream and half a t. of 'real" coffee and half a t. of decaf.... I only drink 1-3 cups a day of coffee.

My appetite has got to the point where I eat much less and I really have no uncontrollable cravings at all....I can even sit beside my skinny daughter wheil she eats chips and candy and not even want it.... that never would have been the case before.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm still figuring out which diet to do and I think it's CAD. I'm not quite sure how to be sure it's the right one for me though.

I have been reading the forum for a few days now and have really learned a lot. So much information and even more inspiration !

I luckily found this site thru a Yahoo search. Thanks Yahoo!.

I was also lucky to get two friends to join Atkins with me and we are preventing each other from straying.
