Originally I had my at 265, but that's not going to happen! I'm at 294 right now! I think I'll have mine be 278

Mine was originally 270 in the New You Preview Challenge thread, but I'm going to "up the challenge" a little and make it 265.

I'm a Johnny-come-lately, but I'll sign up.

With only a month to go, I figure losing 15 pounds will be pretty aggressive. So I'll go for 18 pounds to get to an even 350. Frankly, though, I will be satisfied to make it to 360.

My goal weight on New Years Day is 249lbs. It's starting to look like I will be close but dang it if I DO make it there I will be 99lbs from goal!!!!!!!!
That is a LONGGGGGGGGGG haul from 475lbs!

I feel so blessed to have found this place and to know that I am not in this alone and that is worth its weight in gold!

We CAN do this together!

LCCamper that is an wonderful weight loss!!!!!!!

It is nice to have this board because not many people know how hard it is to lose more then 10 or 20 pounds.

Let's continue to be super motivated and we have a whole month of losing ahead of us! With that being said, I should exercise today.

Sounds like everyone has their goal in place! I had a good week on my first week of Phase 2 of SB and dropped another 1.6 pounds making it only another 5.8 pounds to get to 199 and boy will there be a party in here when I get to Onederland!

I was struggling yesterday and let it get to me. I'm going to start reading my Dr. Phil's book on emotional eating. This appears to be the main source of my fallling off the wagon.

I'll weigh later on this week. Today I'm going to be strictly LC and try to be motivated.

Big Mama -
Emotional eating.........I know it well.........hope that Dr. Phil's book helps. I know how hard it is NOT to turn to food when things are bad.......
Since starting my "diet" or what I now call my WOL, I have:

Lost my Mom to cancer (I was her primary caregiver up until her last breath)
My Ex left me after 20 years of marriage to a "friend"
I found out I was diabetic (BAD) hours before being wheeled into surgery to have a lumpectomy
After the divorce I lost my home, most of my furniture and LOTS of money

WHEW..........

I tell you this for only one reason - life will continue to blast away at us and it is how we choose to deal with it that makes or breaks us. I will say that it has made me tough in that I can beat the cr*p out of a pillow now and throw marshmellows if I feel the need to "vent". But, I will NOT allow life to derail my eating any longer and my private journaling helps. Most of all it is NOT going to change the situation one bit by me binging and making myself sick. I DO understand emotional eating - that is how I got to 475lbs but I soon realized that the above stuff that happened to me in a compressed amount of time (10 months) shocked me into figuring out that food was NOT the answer nor the salve needed to get me through. You can get through this....Hugs, Linda

Wow LC, you've had alot to deal with. It is wonderful that you were able to take all these events and learn a valuable lesson from them. Your resolve sounds so strong. I have no doubt you'll make it. You've had such great success so far.

bigmama- I'm sure you'll find many emotional eaters around here. I'm one of them. You are right to want to work on those issues while losing weight. I have been doing that this time around and I find it's very helpful. I think that if we don't learn how to deal with our emotions as we lose weight, we're asking for trouble later on. I've read Dr. Phils book and also worked through the questions in Bob Greenes book. I found them both very good starting points for learning more about me. Good luck to you and I hope you find the book helpful!
