Talked to one of my docs at the hospital and he said I should try to built up my Quads and Hammies. He said the squats I have been doing were deep squats and he told me those are a no no. Squats I can do, but not that deep no more. Leg extentions are ok, too but very light only. Abducter and Adducter he said are excellent for the IB that needs to be stretched. So here I am going very slowly and everything since there still is pain in the knee I am working it very lightly for now and once the pain resides he said I can hit my legs a little harder He said he rather have me do 10 sets of 30 reps at light weight than 1 set of 8 at heavy weight. The point here is not to get bulky but stronger.

hey girlfriends~
way to go mndabc!! 12 inches, woo hoo!!

susan, you might want to try the squats i learned in bodypump class. the instructor called it the "public potty squat". you know, when you're at a bar or someplace where you don't want to actually make contact with the toilet but you have to pee - ass out, stop just before you would be sitting on it. hope your knee pain feels better soon.

i haven't been to the boards in a few days but i'm still on track. exercise is no problem right now, but i'm working on eating better. not been eating bad stuff, just not been eating enough. who woulda thunk it, that not eating ENOUGH would ever be my problem??

i went to my best friend's house to lounge by her pool yesterday - she hadn't seen me in about 2 weeks, she dropped her jaw! said i looked so much smaller, etc. i guess it's the people who see you less often that can really notice. so i decided to believe her! haha... and yes my bathing suit is quite loose now, so she must be right.
now i'll worry about getting back to eating sufficiently and gaining! eek! can't win!
keep going challenger girls, we are still doing it!

Hey I found a very interesting site. I joined it for free and hope you gals want to sign up, too.

It is called BuffMother, by Michelle Berger (mother of 4 who won 5 Figure Titles) She got some pretty good tips for us gals that had kids to get Buff.
http://66.116.173.217/index.html

Let me know what you think.
In the field where it says "where did you hear about BuffMother" just put my name in it. I can win a free T-shirt.

How is everyone else doing? I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

Default week 9 !!!

wow!
well, everything is different working out at home!
i am just switching from DBs to the straight bar, and my weights are all off! i guess i've got some recalculating to do! but it was nice to have my own space.
why can i lift so much more with the bar than DBs??
so much still to learn.....
hope everyone's monday is good!
i'll be in journals later, including my own.

LOL lasha...the barbell doesn require individual muscles to work hard like the dbs do...this is why its a little easier...its a combined effort...with dbs the muscles are forced into working strictly themselves without help...make sense?

i am right on track girls!! hows everyone else doing?

hope everyone's doing great!
has anyone thought about what we'll do when this challenge is over? will there be another? i sure hope so!

Hey everyone, Just got back from Doc, he ordered x-rays and MRI. X-rays are done, don't know what is going on with those (will find out next week) also ordered Labs for my cholersterol, also find out next week. MRI couldn't get scheduled until 26 september (but I wont be here anymore for that, so this will have to wait until I get to Colorado). He said right now my knee is inflammed again and I need to stay off of it as much as possible, he said no walking, jogging or running at all. Also I need to ice it every day. He gave me some meds for the inflammation and pain. Those are about all the news I have.
oh I almost forgot
I went and did some pushups yesterday and some light sets for Biceps and Triceps and Chest (5lbs dumbbells) since these are the only ones still out (everything else is packed away for the move already).
Well, I will check back in tomorrow.
Later gals
