Default Busy day

I have a busy day today, but I'm going to find time to work out in the late afternoon, as I only have about a week before I go on vacation, and I want to fit into my jeans.

K

(later the same day)
OK - off topic here. I just sang for a wedding, and I have a complaint. First of all, I had to spend a LOT of extra time with the pianist (who is teaching himself how to play... not a good thing). I actually spent about 3 extra hours practicing with him - in addition to the usual hour before the wedding. Secondly, the family didn't pay me until after the wedding... I had to hang around for an extra half hour while they were greeting their guests. I just had to stand there, hoping that they would pay me. I can't tell you how terrible that feels... I feel like I'm a money-grubbing hog, while these people are celebrating the happiest day of their lives. I'm going to restructure my billing for weddings... I'm going to charge extra if I have to rehearse with the musicians beyond the usual.

Now that I got that off my chest... you would be so proud of me! I got home from this disastrous wedding and worked out with a new Kathy Smith tape - it was a brutal workout. But I did it - even the abs (my personal unfavorite). I'm hoping to get another 1/2 inch off my waist by the time I leave for vacation in a week.

Default How was your weekend?

It was FINALLY nice here in Indiana... corn fields have been destroyed by flooding from the recent rains, so it's been nice these past few days to have a break from precipitation.

Did my complete aerobics with Jamie Poteet this morning...I'm almost making it through the abs. Not quite, but I do what I can.

How was everyone's weekend?

I did The Firm:Body Sculpt tape today with Jennifer Carman. And I did the lower body workout just using part of the fanny lifter. Oh wow, it made it so much bearable. Tomorrow will be cardio day.

Did my Fitprime, Strong Bear routine. Felt great!

Had a nice weekend, weather has been perfect over here. Expecting rain, tonight. I have the day off so I might just mow the lawn...more exercise!

Hey Iowagirl, How do you compare Fitprime to The Firm? Is it more for people who are in pretty advanced shape compared to a wimpy gal like myself?

Yeah, Wimpy Girl - I think they are a little more advanced. But give them a try - some of the moves are unique, so you certainly won't get bored. I have Strong Bear and another one whose name escapes me. Still waiting for another - guess it won't be shipped out till Wednesday. This one involves a rebounder (mini trampoline) and weights. Hopefully not at the same time! *Iowagirl suffers concussion, missing from forum for months*

roche -
I don't think that "WimpyGal" is a good name for you. How about "GorgeousGal," or "FirmFatalle," or "FannyLifterFiend?"

I made the mistake of not measuring.....I'll try to measure today and record in my calendar. Then I'll remeasure in a month.

Being cardio day, did a basic Taebo tape. I think in the next week I am gonna buy the advanced tape.

Default Slow Burn

Iowagirl,

I've been doing a slow burn workout every now and then, but it's hard to motivate myself to do it. I did lower body of Body Sculpt this a.m.... I think I'm working outside all afternoon, so I'll get plenty more exercise then!

I'm going out to buy a new tape measure this afternoon, as my cat Zelda (in my avatar) ate the end of my old one... I hope that my hips are smaller!

Well, your hips SHOULD be smaller with less tape! Way to go, kitty!

Default Sadly...

Sadly, Zelda ate the first inch of the tape, so when I measure, everything seems to be an inch bigger. :-( I was never good at math.

I did the Body Sculpt tape with Jennifer Carman, and I did all of the upper body but I only did half of the lower body workout. I then did the Ab Sculpt tape. It seems I have more energy for a tape if I do it in the morning. Afternoons I am sluggish and hot from the 100 degree weather we are having, even though I have a fan blowing on me the whole time I exercise.
