I'm thinking I've started enjoying the wine a little too much again lately. Since I had such a good weight loss, I thought a little wine wouldn't hurt. Only problem is that a little wine seldom is enough, and before you know it, I was having more. I guess I just have to wait until I actually achieve my goal weight, and THEN only have a LITTLE at a time. Shouldaknownbedda!

Sorry, guys, maybe I'm missing something re. this wine thread.
I checked carbcount.ca, which reports table wine has 1.4g carbs/100 g, but how much is 100 g of wine? If it has the same denisity as water, I'm guessing that would be 100 mL, so a bottle of wine (750 mL) would have 10.5g of carbs.
While that's just over half the daily allowance on Atkins induction phase, a glass or two of plonk with a nice steak and salad sounds like a great meal.
Is my math wrong on this one?

Best wishes to all from the frozen wastelands of Calgary, Alberta

George F

Wine, being alcohol, not only contains carbs, but must be burned off before we go back to burning fat. So, the more wine, the longer till we become FAT BURNING MACHINES again.

You said it better than I could have!

I guess I let myself celebrate my losses this weekend. I did'nt have more than three glasses of white wine over the whole weekend. I am going to put it down for the next couple of weeks though. I am anxious to break 200lbs and I do not want ot stall.

Thanks, Farside; I didn't realize that the alcohol in wine/beer/spirits affected the metabolic process like that.
I appreciate the information.

Glad you found us Paul.

Hope you stop by once and a while. There's a good group of guys in here and we can use the company.

I can't help feeling like Benidict Arnold or something today. I have not cheated but what I'm doing may be even worse.

I am refining sugar in my own at home production/lab.

In other words I am making Maple Syrup.

Gasp!! I feel like an Evil Dr. Jeckle. At fist glance he looks like a sucessful member of the LC WOL...sure but look in the back yard. He's torturing all those trees. Squeezing the sugar right out of them! As I sit here on the computer, my kitcken is full of steam as the sap is boiling down toward mmmmmm SYRUP.

MUST - NOT - GIVE IN TO....... TEMPTATION !!!

Super Troopers, meow, one of my favorite meow movies....

Which probably just goes to show that I have no taste what so ever.
