Girl Scout Cookies....now that used to be a sunshine moment in my day. But now I'm thinking...man that's like unbelievable that those &*$~ girl scouts have been feeding the addictions of so many carboholics for all these years!!!!!

Can you imagine if the boy scouts started selling pints of Vodka???

Anyway, I've enjoyed wearing my jeans this week and being able to breath. Thank you Dr. Atkins.

God Bless,

Talking My Sunshine Moment

Hi Everyone,
This morning I weighed in and lost another pound!!! so now I'm down a total of 22 lbs

But this is the biggie for me we went out to dinner at my favorite mexican resturant tonight, and I did not have one .......NOT ONE chip!!! I orderd The Topopo salad ( A large salad on a small refried bean covered corn tortilla, That I also keft on my plate! )
I requested ranch dressing Instead of the vinegarette and put some salsa on top. I have never felt so in controll in a resturant

I want you to know that I read almost every night eaven though I dont always post, I am greatful for the connection I have here with you It's made me feel very good during this new WOE.

Talking Lucky Sunshine Moment

This is a funny thing, but it made me feel good.
How to loose weight through poor math!

Because I'm Australian and we use the metric system, I had to convert my weight in kg to pounds for the forum stats. I worked out 171kg to be 390 pounds and my goal weight of 90kg to be 190 punds.

I just checked on on-line conversion tool - and guess what? I miscalculated. MY original weight is actually 375 pounds! and my goal weight is 200 pounds!

Thats a total of 15 pounds lost through poor math! And I don't have to loose as much!

Slacking off in Senior Maths class has really paid off!

But seriously - this has been a bit of a sunshine moment for me

Default Girl Scout Cookies!

I just have to say that I DID buy one box of Girl Scout Cookies. But my victory was that I didn't have even one cookie...they were for the kids. They devoured them within the day. And I felt very GOOD for abstaining. I knew not to buy more than 1 box, because I didn't want them hanging around the house when the kids were gone. AND I had a big discussion with the Girl Scout mom about my lost weight and she shared her victory over smoking. Cool, huh?

I do still buy things like that for the kids, but in smaller quantities. They have much less sugar around now, and I am able to stay on my WOE. So it liveable.

Baseball season is starting up here for my youngest son. Part of signing him up we were required to sell a box of See's chocolates. My victory is that I just paid the 12 dollars instead of bringing chocolates into my home. I knew my weakness, and chose to spend money rather than face 24 chocolate bars calling my name.

Talking My moment...

I realized this morning while I was running errands...

...that my belly no longer honks my car horn as I get out of the car! Imagine the horror of wanting to slip in and out of your car while drawing as little attention to yourself as you can and having your gut sound your car's horn! Ugh...

But that no longer happens.

Oh, and I haven't taken any pain meds for my knees in a week..

Woo woo!

Cool Scout Cookies and Horn

I use to wonder how people had Girl Scout cookies still in the Fridge come Oct/Dec. Now I know.

I have 15 boxes in the freezer and they don't even call out my name.

I haven't driven my car this week, and when I got in it this morning I was able to move the seat forward. Not only was my belly NOT in the way, I could reach the seat lever without getting out of the car!!

So I understand the belly honk!

Dee

Congrats Dee and DW!

Been there, done the horn thing...but usually because as I am trying to get gracefully out of the car ( an impossible thing at 350 pounds for a 5ft 6" woman), I would throw my purse on the steering whell as I tried to wedge my way out.......causing it to honk.

The struggle to escape the car is much easier...and a little more graceful.

My sunshine moment today is realizing I have been on induction all week, and have done a geat job. I did break down and have coffee a couple times though. But no diet pop!!! That has always been so hard for me! I have consistently been drinking 110-130 oz of water a day...and it is slowly geting easier. Plus, there is not any room for any other fluid I think!

Hi Tammy

I square dance, and I got to were I could only dance one tip and then be exhausted. I now dance every tip for about 3 hours and still have energy.

The women that are 1/4 my weight are amazed at me. The women that are overweight are now asking me how I do it.

It's a lot of fun.

Default YAY!

Sunshine Moment 1: Last night, my hubby and I went to the Philharmonic. We were really hungry when we left (we'd been running errands all day and not eating on any regualr schedule) so when we left to go home (nearly 45 minutes away), he decided we'd stop at Taco Bell for dinner. He ate whatever he wanted (I don't put any restrictions on him, since he's willingly doing this with me), but...
I had a Club Chalupa, a Baja chicken Gordita (no lettuce), and a chicken soft taco supreme, all without eating any of the bread. Not the flat bread for the gordita, not the fried bread for the chalupa, or the flour tortilla for the taco. YAY me!!

Sunshine Moment 2: This morning in church, our Sunday school teacher (who knows I'm on this diet) asked how I was doing and said she could see where I was losing weight! I don't see it, so it was quite touching for her to tell me so and encourage me that way.

My sunshine moments for today:

. Realising that I have now lost over 50 pounds in three months

. Getting my blood test results from my doctor and being told they were excellent. I have never had high cholesterol, but it is now even lower than it was when I was on a low-fat diet (total cholesterol 4.0, triglicerides 0.4). You could have knocked my doctor over with a feather after I told her last week what I had been eating. She went beserk when I said I was eating butter and cream. She is now going to buy the book and read it.... YAY.... oh the power to be educating my doctor
