I posted this in the main body of this forum but guess it more properly goes here:
The single biggest help I have found in my 3+months on Atkins, all limited to 20 grams of carbs per day, has been rolls I buy at Trader Joe's. The brand name is O'solow. They sell deli or sandwich rolls which I eat one of per day. Usually I have a chicken breast or two chicken thighs each on a half of the roll open faced. I cover it with some cheese, maybe some wasabi or horseradish mayo and grill it in the toaster oven. A whole roll is listed as 170 calories, 80 calories from fat, 9g of fat, 1.5 of saturated fat, 150 mg of sodium, 10 g of total carbs, 7 from fiber for a net effective carb count of 3 g, with 12 g of protein. The big key is it made sandwiches doable for me again! A box of 4 rolls, individually wrapped costs $1.99 so unit cost is 50 cents. They are quite moist and I worry about transfats from any baked good that is moist out of the wrapper but the numbers on the box look good. I have also tried their cinnamon raisin rolls which I use periodically to make french toast. Actually less calories but third gram more of effective carbs. Website for the manufacturer is www.osolo.com. Apparently they have lo carb muffins which I havent tried. If there is any more info I should have listed in order to make this most helpful, please let me know.
