LOL! For a moment I thought you were going to put the PETA people on the menu. I can just see it:

Rare buffalo steak with a berry sauce served on a PETA.

See, this is how good concepts grow. Definitely serve side dishes on a PETA. Or just use their real names. "Yes, I'll be hunting the deer, but in the meantime, could you bring me a side of Sam Chowder? And are any of the protestors tonight on the elderly side, because my wife would like a Geezer salad."

Geezer salad. LOL!

While I'd like to see something useful come of the PETArds, I don't think having them on the menu would too appetizing.

Did you catch the Letterman interview with Joaquin Phoenix? If that's not an argument against veganism... I don't know what is.

I'd rather eat a mad cow. (or a CWD deer)

I like the restaurant idea tho'. It would be like a Brazilian char house.... with weapons.

No, I suppose not. But if we wait until their brains cease functioning due to lack of essential fatty acids, they could qualify as a side of vegetables.

I didn't see Mr. Phoenix on Letterman. Is he a vegan? Did he sound brain-damaged?

They all sound that way to me.

Okay, folks, I'm trying to stop laughing long enough to say this:

PETA is a vile, underhanded organization that has not a single care for human rights, the truth, or anyone's dignity. But I know some vegans who are actually very thoughtful and kind people, so let's try to stay on this side of the line, mmmkay?

I know I've been guilty of some pretty nasty comments, but I'm trying to reform.

To be fair, they only sound that way when they're talking about veganism. Shoot, my brother, whom I love dearly, and his misguided wife (whom I also love) are vegans. They ping ponged around on various diets, even Atkins, and finally ended up as vegans. Or rather, she ping-ponged, he followed.

How is it you guys give up all control to your wives? Is it the sex?

I don't know if capmikee has seen this but it made me laugh out loud.

I say we open a paleo restaurant where you get to stalk and kill your own dinner, then cook it over a roaring fire. The restaurant will supply a well-stocked mini-forest, clubs, spears, flint knives, and a cooking pit. Near-nakedness will be encouraged.

I like the way you think!

A good site for looking up nutrition data for fast foods is:

I think all those folks who used to think women wanted to be rescued got it backwards. It's us men who wanted rescuing from our pointless, disorganized single lives! Freedom is overrated.

The sex is obviously a big factor too.

Actually, I'm a major control freak, but it's focused on very narrow areas of my life.

Kinda creepy if you ask me. One interesting thing though - I knew Hitler was a vegetarian (actually he became one while he was in office), but I didn't know about Charles Manson and Pol Pot.

Scent of a Führer

I don't think Genghis Khan belongs with those guys though. I just watched the movie "Genghis Blues" about the throat singers of Tuva, and they consider him a hero. As an added bonus, the movie features a traditional feast where they slaughter a sheep in a VERY interesting way.

Default Restaurant info and wives

Deirdra, that's the best all-in-one site I've ever seen for looking up nutrition info for restaurants. Thanks. I'll ask my wife to put it on the Fat Head web site. (She's my webmaster/designer when she's not leading me around. She also drew all the graphics and characters for the film, including my favorite, The Guy From CSPI.)

Men letting their wives lead them around:

Blake Clark, one of the comics I met when I was starting out (also the father character in "50 First Dates") had a great bit about being a married man:

"After a few years, you really get really well trained. We have conversations in my house that go like this ..."

"Blake?!"
"Sorry!"

"Ed?!?!"
"Yes, dear"
"Don't you 'Yes Dear' me mister!"
