You're so right! Because cavemen and Native Americans ate A LOT of carbs didn't they? NOOOOO... They ate meats, veggies, and natural (not WHITE) grains, like WILD rice. Eating large ammounts of carbohydrates like the majority of Americans do is NOT healthy and NOT normal. Why do you think America is the nation that is OBESE and OVERWEIGHT.. Because our portions are out of control and because we have WAY too many carbohydrates. You are seriously mistaken when you say that a low carb diet is only OK for people who are overweight. Carbohydrates create spikes in blood sugar, which are totally UNhealthy. Like everyone is telling you, you NEED to read a book if you want to diet. Before any diet, you should read up and do some research. Everyone here is trying to help you and tell you what you need to do, and you are NOT listening.

Today ive had over 20g of carbs, probably around 50-100.
Will this severely damage the keto process?

You would probably know if you read the books..

It will probably slow your weight loss. Induction is 20 carbs. That's it. No ifs ands or buts.

So 21 carbs would make a difference?

why have you been so difficult this whole thread?

You asked a quesion and I answered it.
You didn't eat only 21 carbs, did you? No. You had between 50-100, and you don't know because you're not counting. You could have easily had way more. If someone had come on here saying "I accidentally had 21 carbs today, is it going to make me stall, get out of ketosis, etc." everyone would respond with a "No" and to "Make sure you count EVERYTHING you eat". you are only here for losing 14 pounds and you're not taking this WOE seriously. So your question of 21 carbs doesn't make sense, because you had 100.

Reminds me of that commercial where the family isn't allowed to cross the bridge unless they answered 3 quesions from the Troll.. I like that commercial. Though, I don't know what it is advertising.

Ketosis happens when carbs are extrememly low. If you want to achieve ketosis, you need to resist the temptation to eat bread or rice. It does make a difference. You hafta be more strict woth yourself and stop guessing the amount of carba you are eating.

I just want to be able to go off this plan when ive lost the weight and go back to a natural balanced diet with the proper ammount of carbs. Is that impossible?

So, following the Atkins plan, to you, is unnatural and improper? Why would you eat like that, if that's what you believe? Atkins allows beef, fish, poultry, eggs, cheese, vegetables, nuts, and some fruit, what isn't allowed that you feel is part of a "natural, balanced diet"?[/
