Gee, It's been a while since I wrote this thread!

I come back to say this: I was in a period of not losing ANY weight for 8 weeks. I did lose lots of inches and went from size 14 to 12. I knew the weight will come off eventually.

There are many people who call not losing for a week or two "a stall", I just hope some of them will read this.

If you lose inches you are NOT in a stall!!!!!!!!
So after 8 weeks my scale moved - all I could say was "I knew it"

Please, don't panic about weight loss slowing down or stopping for a while. If you are doing this correctly - you are NEVER stalled!

Good luck

Alina

BTW - want to know how I feel on this WOE - check my black dress link below

One of the BEST inspirations, that I have come accross. Great thread!!!!!! Gave up Atkins once before about a yo, there is no support in Australia for this WOE and its hard to find low carb foods that Atkins recommends. I was on it for about 10 weeks approx. didnt loose much but the inches that came off. Anyway I gave up bc everyone around me wanted to know how many kgs I lost and when I told them about the inches, they all said it must be water plus they convinced me that it is not a healthy diet, my cholestorol is going to skyrocket etc. Must admit I still have doubts, but this forum has given me new hope.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Luv

Hey Alina,
Thanks for this thread. has been hugely helpful, especially to a relative newbie like me (am just done with my 3rd week.) All I have to do when I get a bit discouraged is just remember how much I used to obsess about eating before, and how much more fun it is just to be able to eat food I actually enjoy, rather than lying to myself that I really love rice crackers! Thanks for the inspiration. Looking forward to the next 3 weeks...

Thanks Avlev!

I'm a bit lazy and not posting so much these days. I don't think I could add anything to this check-list.
The most important thing is to understand lowcarbing is for life.
Good luck!

I am so happy I found this forum. I've tried low-carb off and on for awhile now, but I have finally decided that I have to live this way to keep my weight from going up if I think I can eat normally. I lost 50 lbs. last year on low fat and then stalled for six months...my hair fell out and my skin looked terrible. I started on Atkins and lost down to 170, but then thought I could cheat, and well...

Anyway, with this new year I am going to be serious. I'm older than most here probably, 53, and it will be harder for me, but please, please help me when I get low down. I've started a journal here and I think that will help immensely.

I'm taking today to gather recipes and go grocery shopping. And to spend the day reading really inspirational posts on the different carb sites.

I hope to be a regular here and I hope to have success.

I really enjoyed all your posts.
