Hi Vgal!

I guess we are all somewhat in that same boat when it comes to those who don't or won't try to understand this is a permanent way of life for many of us. Also the friends we no longer dine with, and the relative with the candies and cookies etc....

I was called a "Diet Snob", but never a food Nazi. One thing Ihave to work on still, is to not talk too much about the WOE to them. Just be reactionary and answer their questions and move on.

One thing you could do with those sandies is toss em out the window when Nana leaves.....give them to a local food pantry etc....

Prof,

I've never been called a diet snob mainly because my friend's know under the right circumstances - mainly weakness - I will eat anything and EVERYTHING. My girlfriends starting calling me Food Nazi because I would dictate the food that would be served on our plate and became fearful for placing an order that didn't fall into whatever dietary guidelines I was following. I wear my title as a badge of honour and with pride. If I can education one person on the benefits of eating healthily, then I have done my job.

I have only had one of the Pecan Sandie cookies so far and I'm proud of that! I haven't been home much so that's good. Stay away from home and at the gym and I get to avoid bad foods! It works!

Re: "I don't believe Ned was saying that ALL overeaters are emotional overeaters, he was simply pointing out that emotional "instability" is a HUGE contributing factor for many people who suffer from obesity."...

In have to throw in my 2 cents here....many thin people have emotional instability leading to overeating, too...as is the case of 2 friends of mine. Both have their issues...difficult, deep-seated, emotional ones...and they overeat, especially carbs...yet both are under the insurance-chart-type weight. Neither exercises. (I MUST get 45 minutes cardio 4-5 times a week or I gain.) One struggles to keep her weight above 135...she is 5'10". We work in food service and it's not unusual to see her eat 3 desserts a night. She keeps chocolate in her home and eats it freely. They eat bread, sushi, french fries, cakes...I could go on and on with examples....but it's frustrating to even think about!

Skinny person here. You know what I resent? When I walk around the gym and see women with muscular, sculpted arms and torsos. I wanna look like that!
Also, my partner has "gender dysphoria". Without going into all the ins and outs, he looks at me and thinks, "I wish I had such a delicate, feminine body." I look at him and the way he packs on muscle, just by working on the car, or lifting one of his kids and think, "You lucky SOB! If you trained and ate the way I do, you could be on stage, winning prizes! That's what I want!"
What a crazy, mixed up world we live in!

Skinny people never really bother me. The only ones I find kind of annoying are thoes girls who go to the gym just to look cute, pose, and act like their really working out. I mean who the hell works out with lip gloss and eye shadow on? So stupid

Yes, I remember being in the gym one afternoon, with a bunch of very giggly teenage girls, just playing around on the various machines. If they had got in my way, I would have reminded them, "This is a fitness club, not a night club."

ROTFLMAO! The first time I read this was about 15 years ago, and the person who said it then was Cindy Crawford.
