Lynda, you should know by know what hotels are like! The ones that do no single supplement are few and far between.

I've spoken to Lynda tonight and she's not going to be able to make it up to Edinburgh at the end of the month. Christine and DH are now coming up for one night on January 31st as are my DH and myself.

We need to do a quick head-count of who is going, when they are arriving and where they are staying (if staying overnight). I'm going to ring the Mardale to cancel Lynda's booking so there will be a double room with en-suite going there.

I have just noticed this thread and would like to put my name forward to come visiting in Edinburgh. Now, I don't see many people responding to the head count and I hope the others haven't copped out or anything cos I am looking forward to this.

Anyway, I don't know anyone who is coming but I would very much like to join in. Now I know I am a bit late but if someone who is coming could just let me know where you are all meeting my DH and I will be there with bells on. Now, we shall be travelling a fair distance so if I am to make the effort I think others ought to make the effort.

According to the AA route planner its a good 4hr drive for me, so l'm aiming to leave mid Friday morning ( depending on when l leave the Bay Horse on Thursday ), and take my time.

Am l now the only one left doing 2 nights ?

I'm not sure, but I think you may be the only one who is staying the 2 nights. I think Lindy was going to come up for 2 nights, but I haven't heard from her yet.

Derek and I will be leaving Newcastle between 9am and 10am (hopefully!!) and should be up in Embra by lunchtime (weather permitting). I know the A1 is a bit iffy at present north of the border. We are staying at the Mardale with Christine and DH. Are you staying there too? I can PM you my mobile no if you want it so we can meet up when we get there. Let me know.
