Okay, managed to get my pedometer today, so will get it put on at some point today, and I am now among the steppers...I will wear it to rehab...not a problem there, and I have to do some treadmill work, so should add up a bit.
See you all soon with some steps to add.

Well done, Jalera! And well done, cc!

And you've made a good start, Dar. I know how difficult it can be.

I've just had a few days where I couldn't manage more than 2 or 3000. But yesterday was a good day - got to 11,200. So I think I'm back into the swing of things. We did our weekly shopping, and I not only parked as far from the supermarket as possible, but I also walked up and down every aisle.

Cheers, fellow steppers!

Roz

Hi everyone,

I bought my pedometer about 3 weeks ago - it has fallen off twice (I wear it on my panties)

Yesterday I only managed 5723 steps. I find it absolutely fascinating to see how many steps I take in a day and am constantly taking extra steps to try and up the amount.

Did I read over 13000 steps for weight loss. (Maybe I should sell my car LOL)

Shira

Default pedometer online

Any recommendations for a pedometer I could purchase online? I'd like one I could use while running. Are they as accurate for running as they are for walking? I have 2 small children so browsing through stores is not an option for me.

Thanks!

Jen

Sunday's steps: 11.4K - took two walks - 25 minutes am and 10 minutes pm. I have much more trouble getting my steps in when I have a day off.

caverjen: sorry I really wish I could remember where I bought my first one on line, the link was provided by Walking Magazine which I think is now defunct. What about just doing a search online for it? It should be just as acurate for running as walking, your stride length will be longer if your interested in milage as well as total steps.

cc: great weekly average.

Shira: do you wear dresses? Whenever I wear a dress for work I clip it on my pantyhose, or if the dress has a back tie I clip it on there. I drop mine alot too - and arrrrg it resets itself to 0 sometimes!!! Start with small goals. Wear your pedometer for a few days while doing nothing extra, average those 3 days to get your baseline, then set about increasing your steps by 1000 per week till your reach 10,000. Then shoot higher if it's reasonable.

Rosebud: keep up the great work!!

I managed 7,300 yesterday. Pretty happy with that. I'm still aiming for 10K, but accepting 7.

Keep up the good work, gang!

I just put in a request for a pedometer for my birthday. The only problem being my birthday is the 29th of November. Keep up the great work and hopefully I can join you in the future.
