Low Carber for Life,

Boy has oa changed! I am 20yrs sober and man I have tried to be free from a Binge eating disorder for 12 yrs now. I tried oa , fa, greysheet, and man I swear I got mentally and emotionally unhealthier with the food.

I am finally thanking God that I am able to see the "exact nature" of my wrongs and how defects and spiritual unrest has caused me to reach for food instead of alcohol and dope.

But you all know active food addiction mirrors emotionally and spiritually the other ones so I feel like I have been using. It has been such a painful emotional process and I have wasted countless dollars trying to cure the symptom of my dis -ease.

My food addiction is way worse than my booze one. But I just keep after it every day. More will be revealed!

I never was a food addict until after I got sober in 1992, because alcohol was the only important thing in my life. 10 years sober I was able to quit smoking, and now food has become the main problem, i do well when I follow Atkins, but just like with booze, If I stray, like the GSs birthday cake this weekend, I get out of control cravings, I did food binge this weekend, and now I need to start over and get on track.

I've been thinking lately just how blessed that I am to be an alcoholic. In my area we have a lot of small towns, and David and I go regularly to 10 differant meetings, which means that I have 300 close friends, who I know very well and love and care about, and who love and care about me. they love me if I'm big, and when I'm small, and when I speak they listen, because I know how not to drink, one day at a time, I also quit smoking that way. Gluttony is listed in the big book as a charactor defect, and I have it, and I need to constantly work on it, with my HPs help.
