Two weeks of Phase I, finished! I didn't lose quite as much as I'd have liked this week, but since I started exercising in earnest and I know that sometimes temporarily causes you to retain water, I'm still happy with it. I think I'm going to add a bowl of blueberries to my menu today to celebrate beginning Phase II!

Actually Katrina, you are just about right on target for the amount you want to loser totally. We can expect to lose up to 10% of our total weight loss in phase I, so about 3.5 lbs for you.

A nice serving of blueberries will be nice!! Be sure to check the food lists so that you know what a serving size of berries actually is.

OK - My weight loss has really slowed down. I have been in phase 2 for 3 and a half months. The only major difference is that I have been eating more summer fruit than I used to (usually strawberries, cantaloupe and cherries). I am going on vacation in about a week and plan to go back on phase 1 for 2 weeks when I return , so I can jump start my weight loss.

I went camping this week with family, and though I stayed mostly on plan, I had a little trouble sitting next to my husband while he was munching on my favorite trail mix. I ended up having some. Ah, well... it was just a little slip, and I'm picking back up again. I even got right back into my gym routine when we got home!

How many fruits do you eat per day? How much starch per day?
You will not need to do a full 2 weeks of phase I, 3 days is usually enough at this point in your weight loss.
If you would please show me a few days of your menus, I can help.

But what we all need to learn for our individual bodies is how much fruit and starch we can eat and still see loss. Once we figure that out maintenance will be very easy.

I can eat 1-2 fruits per day with no starch and see loss. I have also eaten 2 starches in a day and saw loss....I have not gotten up to 3 -4 servings of fruit in a day, nor starch either. Maybe if I was running 6-7 miles a day but I am not.

Our bodies are our own experiment.
