I was running better when I was eating low to moderate carb and not doing large carboloads the evenings prior to my long runs. I think the huge ingestion of carbs is impeding my performance. 60-80 grams of carbs is very low for a marathon runner. It might be that it hasn't been enough time to burn fat efficiently, as it has only been 6-7 weeks.

I'm dropping back to 50 -60 grams of carbs per day, which I lose weight at quite easily. I will not load up before my next long run.
I've ordereed Groves' book and will have a look through that.
