I know when I am in ketosis without using the strips. I ate a buffet yesterday and went off in a big way and when i had that Keto breath today I was suprised to find that I was still burning ketones and did not get knocked out. I used the strips just as a verification.

I like to use fresh parsley, it really does seem to neutralize that metallic taste.

How long does it take to get to ketosis? I just started my LCD yesterday, and today I woke up with major dry mouth that has lasted all day long! And I'm not even cutting as far as the Atkins, only to 60g! Its exciting to know that this is a good sign!

This reminds me of when I first started dating my husband. I was LCing. We didn't kiss much and I remember thinking that it was strange that he was not a kisser. Years later he told me that it was because he could not stomach my breath. I was so embarrassed. I didn't realize that it actually stunk that back. I knew that it didn't taste fresh. I still try to avoid him to this day. Hey, he musta loved me, right. He ended up marrying me!

It can mask it but since the smell is the actual ketone bodies being expelled through the air you breath out (not bacteria in your mouth), you can't really neutralize it with mouth wash... Not everyone gets it though and for those who do, its not always "bad" - just different. I think most people find the taste bothersome and I find that can be eliminated with certain types of mouthwash and anything to change the taste in your mouth. I always use the Dr. Katz oral products and think they are great....

I've never noticed any smells, nor any weird taste in my mouth, not even when I was registering in the deepest purple on ketostix.

Are we talking nutty smell coming from body or breath? I haven't noticed a smell coming from my body but my mouth does taste metallic like others have said when I eat only meat and cheese. I wonder if I smell nutty? I should probably ask DH and find out.

Default what is **THE BEST** fiber?

Hey everyone!! I just started Induction a few days ago..and I feel REALLY BLOATED..it's like my stomach even feels 'hard',plus im noticing that im *constipated* and I have NO IDEA what FiBER to take I have realized that some fiber has a relatively large CARB CONTENT..for example,I was going to drink a glass of a fiber supplement in a power form (1 tablespoon) and read that it is 7grams of carb...At this stage of Induction,I have sooo scared to drink it..So what should I do? Plus, what is the best fiber out there with the LEAST carbs? Thanx

Ohh, I'm waiting for bad breath but I have constant dry mouth!!! Sometimes I can barely swallow. But that's great for the water intake!

when I first started I was constipated also and someone suggested magnesium and and I've also added teaspoon of coconut oil which helps too. It helped. I put coconut oil in my coffee and barely notice it.
