Lindt! That's what it was! Not Godiva. I'm just on TOM currently and having a REAL hankering for some chocolate. But, looks like I'll have to be content with my SF Fudge pops. They really held off the cravings, but, along with TOM, comes the chocolate beast!!!

There's a couple of different SF chocolates out there these days. Russell Stover and Hersey's make a variety of SF chocolates that I buy for my DH. However, they have a lot of sugar alcohols in them which can cause digestinal distress. And I'm not sure they are allowed on Phase 1 of SB. Personally, I would stay away from them for now.

What about sugar free, diet hot cocoa? I found Swiss Miss and thought this would help curb my craving for chocolate (though its usually only a fleeting urge). Per pack it has 25 calories, 4 carbs, 1 fiber, 2 sugar and 2 protein. Would be really good added to hot black coffee too! Could take the place of that irish coffee I love having in the evening.

at 25 cals per packet, you could have 3 packets a day...depending on if the ingredient list is OK. We do not just look at the nutritional info...ingredients need to be correct also. would you please list them?

nonfat dry milk, cocoa, calcium caronate, modified whey, salt
less than 2% of: carrageenan, sucralose, natural and arifticial flavors, disodium phosphate, acesulfame potassium.

I have no clue what most of these are so am looking forward to hearing from you on this one!

I don't them all know either ....but I wanted to make sure that there is no stuff like high fructose corn syrup or other starches in it.

It looks OK to me.
How much sodium is listed on the packet...over 100 mgs and you may have to keep this to 1-2 packs a day.

yeah...thats a bit high for a cup of cocoa. Its wise to keep it to a minimum.

Have you tried to make your own hot cocoa?

Not in years... since my children were small. They are now 24 and 26. I use to have a recipe for spanish cocoa made with chocolate that was shaved and evaported milk. We dropped cheddar cheese in it and it was so wonderful. Would love to find that one again so I know how much chocolate and what kind. Do you have a recipe for cocoa that would be good for phase 1?

If I were making it, I would keep it simple. Skim milk, heated with sugar free chocolate syrup, or unsweetened cocoa...a bit of splenda (or sweetener of your choice), and a bit of whipped cream if you'd like.

For chocolate cravings, I really like to mix 1/2c plain yogurt with splenda and cocoa powder and sometimes an extract (banana/almond/raspberry....)....It's delish!
