Default Petrag + Portocop + Portail...the 3-Ps !

I sympathize Portocop. I sometimes have a hard time getting back to the right thread. I just had a computer crash on my old computer, but I have a new one which is ok, and I was able to find this thread. So, some things are working. Including protein, and banning the wicked-whites.

That is great that you are with us Petrag.
We will be be in great shape for the holiday parties.

I'm off to chicken lettus and eggs (with my zingy cranberry sauce). That should tide me over to tomorrow.

Still doing fine.
I always feel like I eat my head off on weekends, but I'm in ketosis still, and my weigh/measure this morning showed some progress in the right direction.

Default Steady and slow progress !

That is good to hear Petrag and HerselfNYC.
I’m making progress too. Ever so slowly. But when we take into consideration the progress of us all, together, it is heartening.

Default I don't understand why, but this works.

Hi All

Somehow, it does help knowing that you are all sticking with it too. I don’t quite understand why that helps, but it does. I’ve been trying and failing, for 7 months, to get back on track, and now I am doing it, thanks to this.
It is a mystery.

I think sometimes it just helps to know you're not alone. You can do it Portail,
we are in this together

Still doing fine. I'm menstruating right now, which has made the scale bob up a bit, but I'm not eating any differently.

Default Daily calorie quota. Unforgiving.

I am in a funk.
I went a bit over the calorie limit and gained weight. There is a daily calorie quota, under which I will lose weight, over which I will gain (while at the same time sticking to P-P). This is the case, without exception.
It is so unforgiving!

Default Buffets. How do you deal with them?

Up. Down. Up. Down. One pound either way.
Too many xmas parties.
Tonight a buffet. My worst (but best loved) enemy.
How are you all doing ? How do you deal with open buffets ?

I hope you all saw the excellent video mentioned in Michael Eades newsletter:

It is long, but well worth watching.

I know your pain. I am not losing either but sticking to it. When it comes to buffets I usually stick with the salad and if there is cheese I go for that too. Depends on what kind of buffet it can be really challenging. Maybe you can pack some nuts in your purse and nibble on them if there is nothing you can
"legally' eat ? Good luck.

Default You heard it here first. I'll limit the desserts.

That's like going to a concert and putting in earplugs ! But there is wisdom in what you are saying.
There is bound to be a selection of veggies and protein.
I love cheese but it is cruely unforgiving. I gain every time. I"ll try to stay away from the cheese and limit my desserts. (There is always a first time.)

Lol...like the earplug comparison. But the way I see it you have a choice here.
Either go for the food , enjoy it and don't worry about the consequences right now or stick with the diet and keep in mind why you are turning down foods that are not good for you. Sometimes you just can't have it all
