You would have to substitute the milk for (shudder) unsweetened soymilk, half and half or heavy cream and leave the caramel sauce off the top. If they have sf caramel syrup they could use that in place of the vanilla syrup. A tall made breve style will have 13 carbs with half and half w/392 calories and 8 carbs w/a whopping 1027 calories with heavy cream. That's why I would much rather order an iced coffee and add my 2 tbls half and half to a venti for 1 carb.

I actually LOVE the machiato, so I've made a version at home with Almond milk, the best coffee I've ever had from Hawaii, and caramel DaVinci syrup.

Brew your coffee - I do extra so that I can store it and use it another time.

Fill a mug with ice, or put some ice in a blender to "frapp".

Pour unsweetened almond milk (2 carbs for 1 cup!) with a bit of vanilla DaVinci or just put some splenda in for taste. Add coffee and caramel syrup to taste!

Small on carbs - not induction friendly since almonds are not allowed!

It's not exactly the same as SB, but it hits the spot.

I've never heard of almond milk. I will have to look for that. Thanks, fellow coffee hounds!

I order the iced coffee and add half and half and splenda......

I figured out a tall breve to have 20 carbs!!! So I stopped those!

The almond milk is a great idea.....as I am trying to cut back on dairy too....

Hey you guys for 50 cents more they will make your Starbucks coffee with heavy cream. They'll add 2-4 shots of a sugarfree flavor for another 50 cents. They'll also make any of the frothy ones with heavy cream when you ask them to. It's so much tastier and lower in carbs.

I posted earlier about that-I don't watch calories but breve style made with cream is really outrageous in the calorie area-over 1000 for some.

I don't understand why they don't offer more sf syrups. The locally owned coffee shops have about a dozen flavors. Starbucks? Two.

Mine currently has 4-it depends on the particular store and how they sell.

I noticed that some of the larger Starbucks has quite a few sf ones, but the little one by my house only has vanilla, hazelnut and carmel. Hey, I'm not complaining, they are a yummy treat for me.

We are strictly vanilla and hazelnut around here.
I didn't realize the breve's were so calorie laden, although it doesn't suprise me. Guess it is iced coffee from now on. Probably a whole lot cheaper, too.

Iowagirl you might want to ask the manager if they'll carry other flavors. They also have cards to fill out on the counter with the half and half, nutmeg, etc. You can fill out a card making that request so it'll go to the district manager, too.
If you just ask them to add the cream to a regular coffee instead of ordering a frothy drink, you can just have them add 2 TBS which is pretty low in calories and is totally creamy and yummy.

I've never noticed the cards. Thanks for the tip!
