Realising how quickly time was running out for me to be 30 and fab, it was heading more towards 40 and flab

Having birthday party for little one at home, everyone said it was fantastic apart from the one girl who asked my DD why i was so fat.

Not being able to get petite AND XL size clothes.

Not being able to enjoy a nice long soak in the bath anymore cos i could no longer fit in it comfortably.

Wanting so badly to wear a long lean pair of jeans with cute high heels (i can now )

I had many of the same reasons in the begining of my journey then lost a lot of weight and got lax with my food.

The most recent was a picture that was in my gallery of rolls and rolls of back fat.

Ok...I have a few I think.

Not dating and being single because my "type" of guy is usually with a sexy "type" of girl...and I wasn't it.

You buy a bathing suit to go swimming or to the beach in and still end up wearing a huge shirt over it to cover you up and you swim in it as well.

Wearing clothes that are baggy to hide your rolls and then looking in the mirror and hating yourself because you know they make you look twice as large but anything fitting although more true to size is as equally disgusting.

Not being able to wear heels because the weight on your feet is killing you after walking in them for 5 minutes.

Ok...I'm sure there are many more but these were at the top of my head.

How about when you meet someone who is seriously obese and you say to yourself omg how could any one get that large and then find out that you yourself weigh more than the person. (Taking into consideration height and frame).

Buying (what you think is) a sexy new (size 22) outfit at Lane Bryant...striking a sexy pose for pics before a girl's night out ....seeing those pics the next day and realizing you *really* looked like Miss Piggy. No wonder no guy talked to you all night long!!!

*Realzing that your fat rolls are far bigger than your boobs.
*Realizing that the only single man that would want you has been incarcerated for 20+ yrs and has no one else.

I hated to admit that some of your "fat moments" had me laughing...but they did, only cuz I could totally relate to all of them!!!

I did not want to look at this thread.
But I am happy I did.
My trigger was the same as others, but one more for me was...
Not being able to get up from the couch.
When laying down on the couch, I can not just sit up (the belly is in the way) I have to roll to the side and sit up side ways. I use to do this when I was pregnant. No excuse now, just fat.

Your thighs are a women's size 0 pants, not your waist.

Oh how much I needed to hear these coments.
When I was cleaning a school class room and I was puahing my cart to the next room and I looked at myself in the window ( my bubble fat but and my large stomach and arms ). I was sick, so what did I do? I bought 3 half gallons of rockey roll ice cream and cones and consumed a gallon that night and the other 1/2 gal. next day, but you think I was done there? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I kept eatting suger junk until last night. I asked all my Angels to keep me away from the bad foods and here I am after I recieved a e-mail from this thread??? I think my Angels are at work and they have their job cut out for them...
Last year I was wearing a size 10 and starting to look good in shorts. But I gained 50 lbs since then and am sick....
But, I'm back and I'm going to work hard at this.
THANKYOU, ALL AGAIN

Judy

You know you need to lose weight when:

1. You see a picture of yourself and think: "did I see Free Willy 3 (the movie) ? "

2. You look at yourself and wonder if you are pregnant, BUT YOU'RE A MAN ?!

3. You start sewing extra buttons on you pants to make them fit when you sit down.

4. Even air-conditioning doesn't prevent you from sweating like a pig, and being the only one in the room who is over heating. Grrrr...

5. You start to believe that Canadian winters are not so cold anymore. Ehhh... that's probably because you're turning into a polar bear with all that fat and hair on your body. What? Soon it will be safe to swim in the cold arctic icy water...

:-)

For me it was when I started worrying that I was going to need the dreaded seatbelt extender on planes, realizing that my hips and stomach barely squeezed into some seats/booths at restaurants, and having to plan which amusement parks I would go to on vacation because they had to be "fat-friendly" as far as rides.

oh this has been a trip down memory lane... or a fall down memory stairs, take your pick.

for me, it was:
  • being jealous of anyone who could comfortably wear jeans, INCLUDING my fiance who has swiped most of mine.
  • wondering whether or not the airline was going to make me purchase an extra seat.
  • being ON the plane and subtly refusing to fasten my seat belt.
  • seeing the little "ploops" of back fat just above my waist that went away once and then decided to return with a vengeance.
  • losing that little victorian waist curve i used to have (and now i have it back).
  • seeing myself in a mirror at a buffet restaurant and thinking "oh god, who's the disgustingly fat chick in the purple shirt and shorts... oh wait..."

My trigger was growing out of my fat pants and having to buy not the next size up, but the next size after that.

Your afraid to try and pursue your dreams because you cannot pass the physical.

Every girl says that you are a nice guy but that they only want to be friends.

That makes me sad and I'm not sure why. I think I'd rather hear "I'd rather be friends" than hear someone say "You're too fat for my liking and I don't want to touch you in 'that' way" you know? Still, sad.. Then again, if someone said the latter to me, I'd punch them in the face
