There was a survey of blood donators that found those who donated blood regularly had significantly less cardiac disease than non-donators. The researchers suggest it's due to lowered iron levels.

Does your husband like tea? The doctor told me tea inhibits iron absorption, so I wasn't to drink tea when I was taking my iron supplement.. So, if he drank tea with his meals, maybe it would inhibit that for him..
