Do we want to keep posting daily or just our weekly average with tips??

I guess that can be an individual choice, but for me every day will work best. I really makes me a bit more conscious of moving knowing that I'm going to be posting my day's steps here.

cc great start, matey!

And a weekly average of 10.7K is great, Jalera!

Yesterday was a perfect case of pushing myself because I knew I was going to post here. Made it to 10,070!

All this movement has to be doing us good!

Today: 16,660 Steps

I walked to Lunch and back (5 miles) instead of driving. Apparently, it increased my appetite. I ate 3300 calories and 50g of carbs. All the walking must've burned the extra carbs off, though...because I still lost 1/2 pound.

I managed 9000 yesterday. And on a day when I barely felt like moving! Knowing I'm going to post my steps here is DEFINITELY helping me to move more!

Thumbs up

Count me in just as soon as I can find a pedometer. Like Rosebud I have problems walking any distances, but this sounds like fun...so would like to give it a try. I will get out perhaps day after tomorrow to find one, tomorrow taken up by rhab, physio, massage and cousin coming into town...gosh, how will I get through the day!!!
This is a great idea...I joined the walk around the world group, but my contributions have been minimal to say the least.
Thanks for thinking of it.

Hi all, my steps were low for Sunday and Monday:

Sun: 7.7K (just lazy)
Mon: &.9K (busy with typing at work, have my TOM, and a cold, oh poor me....boo hoo hoo )

Okay my pity parties over now!!!

Becca: I bet you'd have trouble counting all your steps in your head!!! Can you adjust the sensitivity on your pedometer, mine has a little slidey thing on the side with a - and + at each end to adjust.

DarB: Welcome aboard, make sure to wear your pedometer to rehab and physio...I'm sure they put you through your paces there.

cc: great job

Rosebud: keep on a movin'

Hi fellow steppers,

I managed 7000 yesterday. Just. Walked around the house a little before bed to get the number up. Didn't have a very good day over all, so at least I was happy with myself that I managed that many.

Cheers, all.

Morning all:

Tuesday's steps: 9.4K - went for a walk around the block with co worker, fertilized the lawn, shopped abit - seems like steps should be higher but I'm still a bit under the weather so any effort seems intensified.

Have a great day.

I had a class at 1:30. Instead of parking right next to the building on campus, I parked a couple miles away (off campus) and walked. The walking itself isn't that bad...except it is in the mid-90s right now.

I bought a bike intending to ride it...I rode it a 3 miles. But, the seat is too narrow (for any full-grown man). My butt was hurting from sitting on a narrow seat...So, I ended up walking the bike back. My butt still hurts a little from it. No normal person has an ass small enough for that seat.

Wow! You guys are all doing so great! Congratulations on your walking.

I have to admit that I've been struggling with my walking. Friday and Saturday I walked over 10k because we had a garage sale. Sunday through Tuesday we have had REALLY bad weather outside (like a tornado or two and hail), so I haven't been walking outside lately.

My job is in front of a computer all day, and it seems like such a struggle to remember to get up and walk. If I don't walk at all at work though, then I barely ever get in very many steps at home.

Do you guys have any good ideas? I'm actually going to ride my bike home from work today, which I know isn't walking but I'm so excited to do it.

Anyway, you guys keep up the good. You don't know just how motivating you all are. I'm going to try and keep posting every day and not slack off.

Hi guys

I didn't wear my pedometer yesterday - well I did but dropped it again mid day and then in the evening I went to a grad and had now where to hang it that didn't look lumpy!! so I didn't keep track.

mickey: I hear ya, 50% of my job is computer work to so I just try to move around alot in the other 50%.

I'd love to get a new bike and ride but I have a subluxating hip that goes out if I bend forward too much or too long or just wrong so I think biking is not for me.

Keep stepping all!
