Great post, Sara. I was smiling and saying "yup" to so much of it.
More than seeing/feeling "new" bones, have you noticed it hurts to sit, lean, lie down? It took me about a year to get used to all the nw ways my body works and moves.
I also have an amazing knack for picking the one misplaced piece of clothing- the size 14 in the size 6 rack! It just seems to find me, and I have to remind myself that's not me anymore. My DD went shopping with me, and when something didn't fit/look good I'd get the next larger size. She said- no mom, get the SMALLER size!
I was just out of town for a while, and there were no mirrors other than the small, high bathroom vanity. When I got home I stripped for a shower and caught a glimpse of myself in my full mirror- and did a double take. That's ME? A month of not seeing myself seems to have given my brain a chance to really notice what I look like, not the old me.
