Sigh....wish I knew what I do to delete my entire post, cause I did it again! Maddening!

Long story short. Sis is home. Things are not good. She called me last night and it was sad. She is in severe pain, has a catheter and is regretting having the surgery. I guess it's all normal, but I sure feel badly for her. The nurses couldn't believe that she was being discharged last night. She has oxycontin(sp?) for pain, but it makes her loopy. She has a 4-5 inch incision across her lower abdomen which makes any movement so, so painful.

Add to the physical pain, she has a new worry. Her daughter went to the drug store to pick up her pain med prescription and the druggist said he could only give her 12 pills as she was at her limit on her insurance for narcotics this year. What!? She has never taken narcotics in her life! Someone is using her prescription card to get drugs. How on earth does that happen?? Her daughter is going to call the insurance company on Monday and try to get to the bottom of it. Sis is very upset about this, which is the last thing she needs. Surely they can trace where/when the drugs were dispensed? What a mess.

As for me, I am off to the golf course about 8:30 this morning. It's supposed to be a really nice day. We've had a few dry days now, so hopefully the course has dried up a bit and also will be less buggy!

I'm sorry my posts have been all about me & my sister lately. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Nicco getting so darn close to wedding now I know you guys will have such a blast!

yea it is time for allergy meds for me. usually I just take stuff to fight the symptoms, time to switch over to prevent allergy meds and symptom drugs LOL

Lori.....ahhh, feel for your sis. I am a rotten patient to the max and any pain, out of my routine due to med stuff LIKE surgery would drive me nuts also. And pain meds making her loopy, ahhh, I know that nasty feeling with the broken ribs.

when I had my neck surgery I took very little pain pills cause whatever they gave me made me super loopy and I just lived thru the tough pain of it all....yes you do get depressed and crazy like! been there like your sis!! normal tho and as she heals more and more she will be ok.
ugh on the drug prescript stuff! wth? I got my fingers crossed she heals up fast and moves forward quick in her recovery.

you chat up all you want about your sis! we love knowing you guys are ok and we can send healing prayers to her

hey all
in head clog to the max. fog brain. still woozy headed
time for more drugs now for me LOL normal crap here for me but annoying but livable kinda.

went to mall with kid yesterday.
did amazingly well for shirts. she got like 9-10 of them. hit in a store called Zuminez or something like that. Hit some she liked in Rue21 but not her size, will get online and order for her today....she is set for a bit with new shirts and she loves all she got so win/win for sure. We shop SO fast....she shops like me. In a store, scan eyes, if you see something that suits you, you buy fast and leave LOL we are not slow lookers at all and we moved thru the mall at warp speed. Kinda wasn't bad on me or hard on kiddo HAHA just not mall rats here!

friggin' chilly here this morning. making pool a lot colder.
said a heat wave was coming back soon....well get the heck here already! I can't have Oct. weather in Aug ya know!

slow day
mom and rich off to casino to gamble. not in mood, passed on this trip
staying home and doing this and that, having to do some bigger cleaning now....getting my rug machine ready and all that stupid cleaning mess...bleck

nothing much doing....waiting for Monday school to start then our routine will change here again for the better I think LOL

great day all

Lori, OMG your poor sister. She is having a time of it. I'm sorry to hear it. When I take something, I think Vicodin, I can't pee. Or maybe morphine? I don't know, it happened after my knee reconstruction when I was 19 or 20. I can't imagine being sent home with a catheter. And heck, an incision like that is like having a c-section. They send people home WAY to quickly these days.

Horrible about the pain pills and insurance also. What the heck? Don't they check IDs for that kind of thing?

I agree with Trig, talk all you want to about your sister. And have fun on the golf course if you can. It might be a good distraction for you.

Trig- YAY for DD scoring the shirts. I think the store she liked was Zumiez or something like that? I've never actually been in one. lol Enjoying another day of cooler weather (I'm your opposite, Trig) and then the hot weather comes back for a visit. It will be good for the Littles and the pool, anyway.

My plan for today is to possibly get the lawn mowed (today or tomorrow) and to go see Crazy Rich Asians with DH. I also need to vacuum the house.

I went hiking yesterday and had to keep my bootie moving bc I had to pick DS16 up from XC. Did a good 3 miles and some change and man am I feeling it today!

Ok catch you all later- DS19 is leaving to go back to college to start his sophomore year.

Hi again,

I texted with my sister and she says she is feeling better today. She is able to just take Advil for the pain. The incision site & lower(from the catheter) are her main complaints right now as is to be expected.

She will call me tomorrow late afternoon and I'll get a better feel for how she's doing. I'm sure sleeping isn't great as every time she moves there is lots of pain. Sure hope each day is better for her and that she can get that catheter out within a few days!

Golf went ok. The course is in much better condition than it was last weekend, but still not great. Back again tomorrow for another round.

Hello- YAHOO!!!!!!! - PAPER done! Hit submit for better or worse.

Lori- So glad you sister is doing somewhat better. Everyday she should be feeling better. Once she gets her catheter out she will feel SO much better. I remember that was the WORST- BUT ITS TEMPORARY!!!! That is the good news. Please try to relax- it really does sound like she is one the mend.

Blue- hope you are just DOING NOTHING!!!!!- Relax- you deserve it!!!!

NIC- I hope you are just as relaxed as you sound in your post! It's coming up fast but you sound like you have everything planned out! Enjoy it!!!!!

TRIG- - yup simple and in the zone. I went to the store today and shopped just plain and simple- meat- green leafy veg- water- done. got some tuna, and more shrimp.
Keeping it simple is the WAY TO GO. Once you get caught up in the complex tastes of carbs it's a dicy road- slippy slope and it goes south for days!!!!!!!! Keep the blinders on to only look ahead! you got this!

YAY on new shirts for the kiddo! Scan and out huh. Dang you would hate to shop with me. I am a huge BROWSER!!!!!!! I can take an hour at the drugstore. Just browsing........... I know that would drive you nuts! HAHAHAH
Any pool time lately?
-----------------------------------------------
PAPER DONE! Totally free day- I mean FREE day tomorrow! It's supposed to be nice too!

So I took the fur baby to the vet- she has itched a patch of fur off her skin and it's red and angry and slightly bleeding. She is also licking the crap out of her paws as well. I had 2 vets/ doctors look at her. Both said they were 99% sure it was the new dog food. So they had me by something else that is Pure and simple. It's called Life Vita, Salmon and pea entree and has blueberries, and sweet potato. No fillers, grain, or sugar, or crap. Plus she is on meds for the itching for the next two weeks which should calm her down too. They said her behaviors were due to her suffering. Now I feel bad.
She is resting and peaceful now- the meds kicked in. She got her shot for rabies and is all up to date on everything. the vet said beside the itch she looks over all really good. Then she tried to sell me some "package for 1500.00"- thanks but no thanks.

I had rotisserie chicken and 1/2 an avocado for dinner and called it a day. My one meal of the day. Not really hungry!!!!
Jammies on, dogger resting, kitchen cleaned and I am propping up my feet with a glass of wine and about to turn on some Netflix! Well deserved!

Night everyone-

Nicco, wow it is wild to hear a sophomore at college for your DS. Seems time is flying by cause I remember when he wasn't in college LOL, crazy stuff. My kid will be hitting high school next year...omg when does the time go?

Lori, oh a catheter at home? I tell I would be moaning so loud it would be driving everyone around me insane!! Glad she is improving and calming down some, kinda hitting that 'just lay around and heal zone' is good for her.

The med procedures etc are harrowing enough, but honestly the heal time is crazy for most people also. It is lay and heal and anyone with a bone in their body to move move move just can't handle just laying around in pain!! I know, it stinks but day by day she will improve so much now.

Jaz, glad your fur baby will improve also with the help from the vet!! Sounds like a nice relaxing sunday for you

I would have to kill ya if I shopped with you HAHA I am a very very fast shopper and I do everything very fast and onto the next thing. I have 0 patience for anything I do actually. Kinda that hyper type person who jumps from one thing to another very very fast. Anything going slow drives me batty in a split second LOL I am not even a good tourist person while on vacay. I go to a 'sightsee place', do that Chevy Chase move when he sees the Grand Canyon for the first time, nods his head, yup a hole in the ground, and leaves! hahaha....I do that kind of thing all the time I drive the hubby and kid kinda crazy actually in how I am but hey, it is what it is. Slowing down for me (even tho I do try to do it) is almost impossible. oh well!!

hey all
had a pounder headache last night. drugged up real good, went to bed earlier and this morning woke up feeling a bit better. head not as clogged so that is a big plus!!

off to grocery store today. haven't been in a bit. not buying much either, we are eating what is in the house. have to use up stuff, don't want freezer burn on things and time to clean up the stuff we do have.

making crockpot chuck roast today.

have tuna for later.

keep it super simple! key for me

have a great day all

Lori- Glad your sister is doing better and Advil seems to be doing the trick. I tell ya, women are tough. Hope golf goes well for you also.

Jaz- YAY for the paper being finished. That is a huge load off I know.

Glad your Bella is getting some relief. Hopefully you will see good changes from the new food.

Trig- I am with you on the shopping but only half on the other. I don't like to linger forever at places when I travel but I also don't want to glance and leave. A nice middle ground there for me, please!

Glad your head is less clogged and hope it stays better for you.

••••••••••

Let's see-

Went to see Crazy Rich Asians with DH yesterday- it was about a 6/10 for me. Parts were slow.

Ravens played last night and looked really good. Yay for that.

Woke up during the night with symptoms of vertigo, dang it. I have no idea wtf is up with that- I know what happened last time but not this time. So I tried the half somersault maneuver twice but not sure if it was effective or not quite yet. Not happy about this and not pleased at all about its return so close to the wedding.

We are one week out from the wedding as of today. Ack!

Hugs to all-

Good Evening!

Waited to post until I had heard from my sister. She is doing SO much better. She actually sounded like her old self. Laughing and telling me about her friend who is checking on her several times a day. This friend lives down the hall from my sister and is a 92 year old spitfire! She is a total hoot! She's a retired nurse too, so she's all over taking care of Sis.

Had fun on the golf course today except for getting stung by a wasp. Dang thing got under my shirt and stung me on my side, up near my bra line. I was just ready to hit the ball when it started stinging me and I yanked at my shirt and it flew out. Ugh! One of my friends had a first aid kit that had some "Sting relief" wipes that really did the trick.

Tomorrow morning early I have an appt at an Endodontist.(sp?). I have been having a "zinging" sensation in one of my teeth and decided to have it checked out before I go to Europe and on a cruise for 3 weeks! I'm hoping I don't need a root canal.....double ugh. We leave on October 1st, so if I have to have something done, hopefully they can do it in the next month. What fun!

After the dental appt. I just have some errands to run and might go for a little run/walk or maybe the gym. Tomorrow night I have to go up to the golf course and help my friend decorate for a golf tournament on Tuesday. I can't play in the tournament due to another appt, but I told her I'd help her decorate.

That's my schedule for tomorrow. Hope you all have a great start to your week and that you had a nice weekend.

Ok- TRIG- I practically spit my drink from my nose from your post. Specifically your description of the Grand Canyon- that was GREAT!
YUP HOLE IN GROUND_ NEXT- dam that was funny. I have to say I do love the Chevy Chase movies- classics. I can practically recite Christmas. It was a traditional in our hour to watch that every year with the kids. Of course cousin Eddie was our FAVORITE character. Sometimes my kid and I will say some lines back and forth around Christmas time.
Now his favorite on is Family Man with Nicholas Cage. We watched that on vacay.

Now on the BROWSING - I literally can spend an ENTIRE day at a mall. Hours in a grocery- and a FLEA MARKET- shut the front door. I am there when they open and have to look at EVERYTHING- then I stand there and THINK about how I could use something- I am thinking about it for along time. Then I walk out without spending a dime- yet I had a ball! Remind me NOT to take you shopping!!!!! HAHAHAHAH

Yum on the pot roast. I had "fried" perch tonight. It was SOOOO good. I put a ever so LIGHT dusting of coconut powder and old bay on it and drop it into a hot skillet of olive oil- "fry" till crispy- 4 min. Then I make a may/ dill sauce - OMG good. I had a small bowel of collard greens and hot sauce with it. My one meal of the day.
Carbs- MAYBE 5-6/ Calories MAYBE 700-800 , one glass of wine 3 carbs/ 120 cals- under 1000 cal/ 8 carbs. Its good! I feel so much better on plan! Dam good!!!!! -
the scales aren't moving so much- but to FEEL GOOD, priceless!

Hey how is the BOAT HUNT COMING?????????

Lori- I am so relieved your sister is doing so much better! She has turned the corner. I know you are eager to see her! I know she will be happy to see you too!
Happy you seem to be settling into a retirement routine! YAY for you. You lucky dog! I will be there someday! Is your hubby still working? What does he do? Does he do Keto too? Is he a golfer too? I would think if he plays he could be a great partner.

NIC-
- OK- ENOUGH of this Vertigo stuff- when are you going to see someone??????? I am concerned! You know I mean that with love- please don't blow that off. Get seen.
WOW oh wow - a week to go- I am on edge with you! So very happy. (Vertigo- ...) I know your daughter is excited. So refresh us all on the details. I have tiny brain. Only so much retention these days. What is her venue? Colors? I know you are wearing a beautiful blue. refresh....... Where is rehearsal dinner? How your DH doing with all this? What family is staying with you? Is your mom coming?

Blue- I know you are unplugged! Rest my friend!
-------------------------------------------------------------
I woke up feeing AMAZING!!!!!- slept until 10:00 if you can believe it. Paper off my shoulders- food is right on target- just feel GREAT!

I took the dogger to get her nails trimmed. She is on a antihistamine twice a day and it is really helping. Huge difference in all over behavior and a bit cuddly and sleepy. I can deal with that. She was suffering and I didn't know! She has never had issues the entire time I have been blessed with her.

Did I tell you - My bosses boss - gave me a 250.00 bonus/ BRAVO- for a project I did well. She also wrote up a really sweet thank you for recognizing my work on a project I was working on. It was sweet.

Ok- I am feeling good-

I may not post until tomorrow afternoon - I have an errand tomorrow.

Good Morning!

I've had a productive morning. Dentist appt at 7:45 and I was out of there by just after 8. No root canal. Not sure what is going on, but I passed all the tests for sensitivity, so the root is still healthy(YAY). The little twinges come and go, so no worries unless it gets much, much worse. Then I went to the cash machine, the drug store & the grocery store. All that by 9:30AM!

Nic.....hope the vertigo stays away! I cannot imagine having that. You sure don't need that with the big day coming up. Fingers crossed.

Trig....laughed at your singing as the bus pulled away. Your day will fly by.

Jaz.....nice to have a long weekend to look forward to. Hope you don't have to spend it doing school work.

Blue.....sure miss you around here. I hope you had a fabulous weekend.

Well, I'm off for another cup of Keto coffee. Yum!

Lori- Ugh, sorry about the sting. That must have really hurt. Glad your friend had something to help. Those sound handy to have for golfing and other outdoor stuff.

Glad you are not needing to have a root canal too!

Jaz- Congrats on the bonus, that is great news. Glad you got the paper done also and that Bella is feeling better.

Trig- Hope the kiddo has a great first day today. Top of the roost!

•••

Hi you guys-

Blech. I feel icky so I'm keeping it short and sweet today.

My vertigo is not gone- it was mild last night (I did take a Benadryl) but then when I was at the chiropractor this morning I got absolutely WALLOPED when I went from laying on the table on my belly to laying on my left side. I still feel somewhat nauseous and headachey and yucky from that and it was four hours ago. I'm going to see him daily this week in hopes that he can help me out with it.

This is obviously not an ideal week to be having all this go on. But on the plus side, I did decide on a top for the rehearsal dinner so clothes wise I am pretty set up for both events. Nice to put that down as done, anyway.

Tomorrow I'll go grocery shopping for Wed and Th food items for our company; the house is getting cleaned on Wednesday so that will be taken care of also.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Good Morning!

I am up WAY early this morning. I'm going to go for a run between 6 & 6:30. First light is 6....sunrise 6:30. My favorite time of day! I'm getting my hair cut and colored at 10, so I'll get my run out of the way early. I may go to the gym this afternoon too.....we'll see.

Trig.....how was DD's first day of school? I hope she has a good year. What grade is she in?

Nic...hope the chiro can help you with the vertigo this week. You have too much to do to be spinning! Glad you have your rehearsal dinner outfit picked out..one more thing off the list!

Jaz.....Not really sure from your post, but are you going to the kids on Monday.....Labor Day? Can you believe it's Labor Day weekend already? This has always meant the end of summer to me. You are doing so great with your eating....how is the treadmill working out?

Am I remembering correctly that Blue is coming home today?

Oh man...I am SO bit up from the weekend. Itch, itch, itch! Can't imagine what I'll be like after playing golf for 3 days this coming weekend. Yikes! The bug spray doesn't keep them all away, that's for sure. The buggers!

Well, 6AM....time for me to head out and pound the pavement. Have great days!
