Default new gluten-free Teeccino varieties

I recently got an e-newsletter from Teeccino mentioning new gluten-free Teeccino products. Looks like they replaced barley with dandelion:

I finally quit caffeine! I'm finishing up the last of the decaf coffee today... I'm going to miss it.

I woke up this morning and shuffled over to the cupboard looking for the coffee... it's gone! I made Bengal Spice tea instead.

Default tea = :(

I have a co-worker who has as much of a love-hate relationship with coffee as you can imagine. He always seems to be getting on and off the coffee wagon, so-to-speak. And he tries to substitute tea for coffee each time. And each time, of course, he fails.

I'm not trying to discourage you, Nancy. I think there is an inner me who wants to be coffee free. But at the same time, I love it - the ritual, smell, and that first, hot sip and the resulting high in the morning.

My point is more that I can feel your pain. I would miss it too (as he takes a knowing sip of the stuff). I just don't have the umph to stop.

What prompted you?

NOPE! I love the stuff, but have cut back considerably...it was bothering me how I had a coffee cup pretty much glued to my hand. Now I make sure that when I make coffee, I sit down and enjoy drinking it. Then when I'm done, I go on and do other stuff. I find this to be a healthier relationship.

Nancy, I'm curious too...what prompted you? Regardless, I really admire your willingness to work through the process of getting off a substance you felt was bad for you. That's real character.

Oh golly!

I found out I'm a slow metabolizer of caffeine from an exhaustive genetic test I had done. It is bad for you if you're a slow metabolizer and about 54% of us are. I also think it was playing havoc with my adrenals. I'd managed to wean my to about 25% caffeine in my coffee over many months, but getting the genetic test done was the thing that finally convinced me to finish weaning off.

Not only that, but the price of coffee is outrageous. Especially decaf.

I still miss my cup of decaf in the morning, but I'm drinking Bengal Spice instead. I might try something else soon. I kind of miss that bitter, dark taste. Regular tea wouldn't work because it has caffeine.

What flavor did you get? My favorites are French Vanilla & Chocolate Raspberry. I don't care for some of the other flavors.

I quit my 5 cup a day habit last Saturday. Just wanted to see if a week off caffiene would help the diet and blood sugars.

I did want to see what it felt like to be totally vice free. I gave up smoking, then alcohol, now coffee/tea. No trash foods... this is the cleanest I have ever been. Friday I'm going to start wearing a habit.

I would take up gambling, but I need the money to buy meat. The only cheap things in the grocery store are carbs.

I just started Paleo and I am fairly excited about it. I used Atkins a lot of times, but missed fruit. I am hoping Paleo will become a WOE for life. I have long battled the addiction w/ coffee so today instead of putting the coffee pot away, I threw it in the trash. I'm to cheap to buy another coffee pot, so I guess I just quit coffee

Default Phase I

I've discovered that I am on the slow track for giving up coffee. Phase One is just thinking about giving up coffee, and I seem to be doing quite well with it.

I haven't figured out what Phase Two is yet, but that's part of Phase One's goal, and I'm thinking about it.

This is revolutionary. Anyone want to join in?

Phase 2 is strategizing the implementation of your giving up coffee. With a lot of maps and diagrams, lists within a list of supplies needed, and complicated parallel project time lines.
