OK I'm in. I'll be on the Dr.B.Diet for the month of January and then I'll be low carbing for the first half of February.
I'll be ready to weigh in on Monday.
I thought that I'd start off by sharing an amazing recipe.
I know that I got it somewhere in this forum, I'm sorry that I don't know the author but it was a total saviour for me one weekend when everyone else was eating pancakes and I wanted to join them.

microwave flax bread

Ingredients

1 oz Butter -- melted
2 Eggs
4 tbsp Flaxseed -- ground
1/2 tsp Baking powder

Mix together and put in the microwave in a square gladware container and nuke for 3 minutes.
I find this makes a fairly closetextured bread that tastes to me like wholemeal bread.

On another board a member suggested you could add parmesan and some herbs to make a savoury loaf but I havent tried it yet.

I often make a couple, slice them in half and toast them like bread or fry them in butter and put calorie free maple syrup on them.
Good luck everyone

Hi Everyone Great advice Addict...the angel is winning so far
This thread keeps growing I love it. I look forward to reading everyday.
I like the recipe for the "bread" ChefMichel.....I will try that ..I really like flax seed...I use it every other morning as oatmeal...I microwave it in water and add a packet of Splenda and some maple extract. Tastes great and even better with bacon.
I also add it to chicken soup for a little texture. I would have never eaten it before I started low carbing but its pretty good.
Im not going to weigh until weigh in day and Im am really getting curious...I was lazy yesterday and watched most of the Biggest Loser Season 3 marathon on tv hahaha
Looking forward to Tues premiere

You're right peaches. For those starting heavy exercise programs you can gain muscle weight. Although I don't measure with a tape measure (my body is so odd shaped it's hard to measure the same place each time, LOL) I measure by clothes. I am on my 3rd set of clothes that I purposely by a pair of pants and a top that are tight. Then each Sunday I model them for my husband and in front of the mirror to see changes in how they fit.
There are many ways to see a healthier you! For some within the first few weeks of low carb they know by how much energy they have.
I am determined to make tomorrow my first full day of Atkins Induction. I'm having a rough time getting that first day since the holidays, but it will happen. I don't have to work for 3 days so I will keep myself to think about food, when I get past the first 3 days, I always stick with it for quite a long time.
My husband had an A1C of almost 10 6 months ago, this time it was 6.5. He has lost 32 pounds in 6 months and it brought his diabetes back into control! I am so excited for him!.

chefmichel,

I jotted down that recipe. I won't be able to use it until I reach goal, but I love easy recipes! Thanks....

I think I will experiment with it and see if my daughter likes it. She is entering puberty and I am noticing some carbohydrate issues with her. She is thin and fit, but I want her to stay that way. More importantly I think it effects her Eczema.

hey Brandy...this is an easy challenge to participate in because Peaches does all the work for you (except losing the weight )

Just post your start weight, goal weight and amt you want to lose by the Biggest Loser Finale which is about 93 days away (approximately)

Then post your weight every Monday and Peaches will create the chart.

Edit to add: I can't believe I gave the perfect guess for the # of days till the finale...It is Tues 4/7...and the show starts this Tues. We started early to get a jump start on the contestants since the show is not real time.

Thanks addict.
I'm gonna join then.
My current weight is 194, I'm not sure if I can do this within 93 days, but my goal is to reach 164. Thats 30 pounds I won't to lose.
Thanks,
Brandy
