I take it. Have taken it for many years. It is excellent source for hair growth!
Do not take it with other meds or supplements. I believe there is a 2 hour leaway, before or after. Meaning don't take it within 2 hours before or after taking another med/supp

I think its actually fine and benificial to take at the same time as you take other vitamins. I get 300mcg of biotin from this really good multi Essential Mix

You need a much higher dose to see results. Actually, it's better to take vitamins and minerals separately, not as a part of multi.

I take it daily, but I take alot more than 10 mg. I think each of my tablets are 1500 mgs. Love it. I have super long hair and the difference it has made in fast my hair and nails grow is amazing. I have tips on my nails, because I am always somewhere I need my hands to look nice. I have to have mine done every 2 weeks as they grow out so fast.

But on another plus on biotin. I raise reined cowhorses, and I had one having a foot problem. The horse shoer had me go get some formula that is mostly biotin and we put her on it. She grew out a half a new foot in the winter, which is almost unheard of. She will be having a whole new hoof in about 2 more months and is so good, the foot problem is gone. Also I keep her tail wrapped up to prevent damage. I took the tail out to wash it and comb it, I had to cut 3 inches of the bottom that was draggin behind her. The horse trainer when he got her back in January rushed right out and bougth the same stuff for all the show horses mane and tails.

What brand do you use? I have a store brand that I bought for like $5 and I don't know how long it takes to see some results but I haven't seen any yet.

I get mine at Walmart or sometimes GNC I use different brands. Just use one that has the most mg's. You can also buy it that says hair, nails, skin formula and all it is, is biotin. Sometimes those are like 2500 mg's per capsule

I will check out the bottle to see what brand it is though. Its a brown colored glass bottle

2brickie - we found the same thing when we used biotin on some showhorses a few years back. We had a mare with feet so brittle they couldn't hold a shoe, the farrier recommended biotin. After a couple months her feet were way better and her coat was really shiny. So we started feeding it to the halter horses to improve their coats as well. It really works!

Yes it really does work for our horses, but it also works for me for hair and nails. I have really long hair and it stays very very healthy if I keep on the biotin. Also it is good for your skin. It also helps in the digestion of proteins I read somewhere. So it is all good I believe. I guess if I ever ran out I could sneak some granules from the barn, but Im sure that would be ick hahaha. Just kidding, but I love the stuff

biotin usually comes in capsules measured in micrograms(mcg) not milligrams(mg) you may need to check which one it really says on your bottles. 5000mcg translates to 5mg. etc....

2500mcgs would be 2.5mgs

for the sake of accuracy when recommending dosage levels of a supplement...to get 2500mgs you would need to take 1000 capsules that contain 2500mcgs this would not be realistic and possibly dangerous at such high levels....

Thanks everybody. I never go to GNC because I always hear they are so expensive but I might try them because I can't always find the supplements I need at Walmart.

Are you sure is not 1500mcg? I take 2 x5mg caps, which is 5000mcg each.
