Default LaTortilla has changed my life!

I've been looking for these locally, finally ordered some from netrition.com (very amazing, rec'd in 2 days!)

I just had a turkey/salami tortilla rollup very good!

Any other suggestions for the tortilla? How do I make a pizza?

thanks

i don't have a pizza recipe, but my wife and i love to fry these in butter or oil and then have tacos (beef, sauteed chicken, whatever)...they are also nice to make deep fried chimichangas! and i agree - they changed our lives too - helped us stay on the program for sure!!!

I don't know about pizza, because the tortillas are so thin, it would be hard for them to hold toppings. But I put a couple on a cookie sheet, baked in the oven at 375 degrees for a few minutes, until crispy. Then broke them into smaller pieces and used them to scoop up guacamole. Muy bien!

Edited to say: Just saw your post, mrjoshua, and yes, you can panfry them in butter and olive oil and then use them like chips, too. Actually, your way tastes better than mine.

I agree, this is a wonderful product. My son brings one to school every day to replace the bread in the sandwich he buys for lunch.

Marchbaby, you should try making quesadillas/pizzas. Just load up the tortilla with your fav toppings then top of with another tortilla; panfry then flip to the other side for a few mins. When the cheese has melted just slice up like pizza - it's great.

HI, I'm so excited about this thread. I started one a short time ago asking about Tortillas and didn't get too much response. Some....and I'm grateful for the info I did get.

How do these taste? Do you have to order a case at a time???

oh man, I use tortillas for everything...

My favorite is Tuna.. cause i miss tuna sandwiches.

I spread a thin layer of cream cheese, then put tuna, and then lotsa little pieces of cut up celery.. i love the lil crunch.

I also put down cream cheese, or Rondel garlic/herb spread and then some salalmi... Anything you can wrap.

Also PB is good on them... The possibilities are endless!!

The whole wheat ones are great spread with a little flavored cream cheese (I mix cream cheese with almond, raspberry or vanilla DaVinci's syrup) and low-carb jam. What a great breakfast!

The quasadilla idea is great too. I make mine in a pizza flavor (mozzerella, pepperoni, pizza sauce) and a chicken/cheese (mexican cheese blend, salsa, shredded cooked chicken. This is a great meal!

I made an "individual" pizza with a tortilla. Brushed both sides with oil, fried on one side till that side got slightly crispy, turned over and on the crispy side put a little sauce, pepperoni and cheese. While the other side was crisping, put the lid on to melt the cheese. Yummy.

The small ones have three, the large ones five grams each.

I'm trying an experiment for a dessert... as we speak! I'm making the mock-apple pie filling, and going to roll some up in a tortilla, brush with butter, sprinkle with diabetisweet and cinnimon, and bake. Theoretically, it should taste like an apple flauta...

The "apple" filling is made from zucchini, believe it or not!! Cut up small, seeds removed, cooked with sf apple cider mix, water,cinnimon,allspice,sweet-n-low, and either xanthan gum or Thick-n-thin Not Starch (which I prefer) Simmer for about 15 minutes and cool...tastes suprisingly like apples with less than half the carbs..(talk about a better way to get your veggies in....)

What fabulous ideas all of you have. Thanks! I never was able to adapt to the rubbery-like LaTortilla Factory tortillas, but these recipes should fix that. The chips will work well to fix that "crunch" craving, too.
