Hello you little vegetarians! Or soon-to-be-little, anyway...
Hi! I've been lurking around here for a while and just now decided to start posting. I hope I am not breaking any rules by not introducing myself in the newbies area. That place seems so busy that I feel tired just looking at it. Besides, I want to interact mostly with you nice vegetarians. So I thought I might introduce myself here to make sure you catch it. You can call me Brad! I am 22 years old.
I've avoided posting for a while because through some bizarre cosmic coincidence, I am actually a student of a member of this board! Your beloved Paleoanth is my college anatomy instructor! I thought I might be intruding upon her personal space. But, she has assured me that she can draw a line between student/teacher and desperate dieter/teacher! Of course this does not mean that I will not spill every secret I know about her should you private message me. (Just kidding.)
I used to weigh around 160 a couple of years ago. I stopped exercising as much and started eating lots of candy and BAM here I am at 260 pounds. I have gained, yes, 100 pounds in just a couple of years. I am clinically obese. It comes on FAST, doesn't it? I am not used to being overweight. I really must say that I am very disenchanted with society in general now that I am treated so much differently as a heavier person. Sigh, but what can you do? Oh, that's right, diet!
My mother has been a vegeterian for over twenty-five years, so I have eaten very little meat growing up to begin with. I look at this as a chance now to go vegeterian myself. Something I've wanted to do for a while, anyway.
Guys, I am going to need some serious motivation. My username here is CadburyEgg for Christ's sake. Does that tell you something about what was on my mind just five minutes ago? CHOCOLATE! Please help me and answer my questions as I start this long journey back to being fit.
