I just got an email from Byrdie16 saying she hasn't been able to login since April 16th. Her husband thinks it's his firewall and has just told her to stop using the site, but as a geek myself I think that's a crappy answer. Anyone have this trouble? I am going to get more info from her about errors etc, but thought I should see if there was an upgrade or somthing that might have caused this problem.

Nothing that I'm aware of, as I'd get tons of emails if members were unable to login. As it's their firewall, we can't do anything about, unfortunately.

Thanks for the quick response. I will have to look into it further. It just seems weird that the firewall would do this suddenly. I mean they have had it for a while. It's good to rule out a new forum issue though!

So I ruled out the firewall as the problem. We turned it off and it still isn't working. She is on an XP box running IE 6.0. I just tried trace routing the server and I'm timing out. I'm going to have her run the same trace route and send it to me. I can't ping lowcarber.org either....

If the ping/trace times out at the last node, then it's o.k. Our server blocks ICMP packets.

That looks fine, so it's not a network problem, as you noted you have the same results, and no problem accessing the forum.
