Default Low-carb sweets?

Are there any good low-carb sweets you can find in a regular supermarket?

Ross's Chocolate bars
You can get them at The bargain shop for 1.69
They are real good. Only 3 carbs per 34g bar.
They taste great too.

Hersheys and Nestles have put out some SF candies (chocolate). Also Sweet N Low and LifeSavers have put out SF hard candies as well. All use sugar alcohols.

I don't know if there've been any studies about sugar alcohols and their effects on attention deficit and hyperactivity.

Try the Russel Stovers lo-carb sweets. The turtles and chocolate covered toffee squares are great! Tastes like the "the real thing." I buy these at Walgreens drug stores in Florida, but also have heard they are at Walmart stores. Most likely you could also purchase these on-line as well. Good luck. Queen Bee

Walgreens is also in Cali. I just got this bar called "Odyssey". It has 29 carbs (but 22g of Sugar Alchohol and 3g of fiber, which comes out to 4 net carbs), 30g of protein, and tastest great.

Default I am so glad you found something!

I personally really enjoy Russell Stover sugar free. Their Pecan Delights are better than Nestle SF Turtles. (I feel like a traitor, as I LOVE Turtles) But, Russell Stover S/F is better than Nestle S/F in my personal opinion. Also, if no one has told you yet. Diet Rite is sweetened with Splenda. Swiss Miss hot chocolate has a Splenda sweetened version. Then there are some soft drinks called Waist Watchers that I found in Kash and Karry. They are from Adriondack beverage co. www.waist-watcher.com They have several flavors. I'm glad you are trying low-carb. I truly believe it will be very helpful for you. And, I'll tell you this, even if I don't lose any more, I'll continue to eat this way. Why? Because I feel SO much better, and have SO much more energy and focus. I hope the same will be true for you.

The wal-mart here has recently began to feature a ton of low-carb things including candy bars. You might also look into getting a few low carb dessert cook books and make some at home. I just bought 3 and I'm waiting on them to get here in mail.

Aspartame is not a sugar alcohol. All the sugar alcohols end in -ol, like maltitol, lactitol, erythritol, sorbitol, mannitol, etc. The only problem with them is that for most people, they have a "laxative" effect. Meaning if you eat too many bars or treats, you had better be near a bathroom. Also, the sugar alcohols have been known stallers of weight loss. Good luck on your LC journey!!!

I know aspartame is not a sugar alchohol, someone mentioned "Sweet 'n Low Life Savers". That's why I said it.

Also, I looked at some of the Russel Stovers and Atkins stuff, and they are way too expensive. I will not pay $5 for under a pound of food! On top of that, some of the Russel Stovers stuff had hydrogenated oils (also something I will not eat).

Hi
I just bought some splenda sweetened hard candies at Walmart, Almost no carbs in them and you can have 4 per serving. They are very good and lots of flavors. there were also several different brands.

I also would not buy the chocolates as looking at the carb count they are just not worth it. I'd rather have a piece of hard candy and I have something in my mouth that lasts awhile without carbs.

Just my opionion.
