Default Inch by inch

After feeling depressed because I seemed to not lose any more weight, other than the first 5 pounds in almost 6 weeks, I was ready to quit! Then I was reading the posts here and I read over and over again, "Don't worry about the scale, it's the inches, lost that count."

Now, I thought about it and realized that even though my scale isn't showing a huge drop in weight, I feel skinnier!! So I did a little test. I got out all my "skinny" jeans and tried them on. Guess what?!?!?!?!? ................SOME OF THEM FIT!!!! I was so excited!! These are jeans I haven't be able to get into in about 8 months!!! I put a pair on and did a little happy dance in front of my hubby singing, "I feel pretty. Oh so pretty."

This renewed my determination to stay on the diet!! I figure, if I can quit smoking (1 year, now ), I can stick to this diet. I think because I work out, weight training, etc. that maybe that has something to do with my scale not moving down as quickly as I would like. But I am not going to quit! I still have some jeans I want to get back into!!!

WTG on the skinny jeans. The way clothes fit is a much more accurate way to tell that you are losing

Keep it up!!

Awesome! I can't wait to do the same! And many congratulations on quitting smoking--I haven't gotten to that hurdle yet.

Everyone here says it's the inches that count, and I have to agree with them. 20 pounds later, my waist has shrunk 4 inches! Amazing, considering how far I have to go.

I know how you feel. I've been on Atkins since February and have lost 10 pounds. Granted, my clothes fit different and I've definitely gained a bit of muscle, but it's still frustrating because many other people seem to be able to drop pounds so much faster. I just keep telling myself to stick with it and things will move eventually.
