insoluble fiber, like bran cereal, isn't absorbed?
So I look up 'fiber' on the internet and read that most of the insoluble fiber is not absorbed because it cannot be digested, at least not all the way. Would All-Bran cereal be considered insoluble as it is like the main part of the brain, etc...? It's "supposed" to lower glucose levels, prevent fat from being stored, etc... Anyone have any opinion on bran cereal as part of a low-carb diet, because, supposedly, the bran isn't being absorbed because it is insoluble, therefore, is it low-carb because the carbs "don't count"? Kind of a stretch, but just want to hear thoughts..
