I have a friend, who has a friend who works for GM. She gave me a few samples of the bars. They were outstanding!! But, I was shoping in the store today and came across a variety snack bars. They were almost $7.00 for only 4 small bars. Come on!!

I think all low carb bars are expensive unless they are on sale. I got one box of Atkins MORNING START bars and 2 Atkins ADVANTAGE BARS the other day and they came to almost $10.00.

Gee, if the "low carb FAD" is fading, why are big companies still announcing new "low carb" products? Must not be fading as fast as the writers of those articles think.

re: price...yeah it's all expensive. Good news is this: every time someone enters the market, you can hear the sound or prices falling. I try not to eat too many of the various convenience bars, but it's good to know that a major force like General Mills sees the market as viable.

Yay for GM.

While I'm glad they do this for occasional "indulgences," reducing a high carb item by 27% isn't going to thrill me all that much.

Suppose I eat the typical range of 300-350 carbs a day (which is what I was eating when I did low fat.) Reducing that by 27% will make it 219-255. Lower, yes, but enough to make a difference when people are looking at the scale every day?

This is the kind of thing that leads to people saying "Low carb doesn't work" when they aren't really doing low carb!

I must say the bars are great! I am redoing induction, so I will refrain. It's nice to know they will be waiting for me when I'm ready. I too am trying to stick with the basics as well.

Lez,
Great site. Even more reason to stick to the basics.

Thanks
