Im in too!! Im only 24 and my stomach looks like Ive had four children. I think we should be doing excerises that target the lower region of the abdominals. Do you know of any? What about Core Excersises? And how many times a week should we excersise and for how long? I need to see some results in my pouch bc it prevents me from wearing the clothes that I want. We can do this!!!!

Yippi!!!! I am doing 2 different ab video workouts. They are from The Firm. One is very old and it is 6 min long and the other is new and 30 min. long. That is how I am starting this. I started it Monday.

I must admit after three kids and a c-section I honestly need a tummy tuck, lol. I too will join this challenge, I did an ab workout yesterady and they hurt so bad I couldn't care try any crunches now!
As far as the core goes, a good one is to start out like you are going to do a push up, not on knees like us gals do, but up on toes. Then...you stay there! AAHHH, it kills and it very hard.
Also, I love my exercise ball for an AB workout, there are countless ways to do them and your back never hurts. I know for a while there my back fat and big butt caused a gap in between the floor and my lower back and crunches just hurt! So I invested in the ball, which you can get just about anywhere, I got mine at Target. You have to make sure you get the right size for your body type though. When you sit on it your legs and body should be at 90 degrees.
So, uh, what kind of workout we talkin here that constitutes 5 X /week?

I AM IN!! This could not have come at a better time! Hey, since we are doing the abs does any of you know a good routine for the upper, lower, and side muscles?
I have been doing some, but I do not feel them. And I am a firm believer that if there is no pain, there is no gain!

Thanks for this one!
Brenda

HI All! Here is a site that I am using to do the abs, it actually does not hurt but I think if I did them right they would, and they would work!
Here is the link
http://www.bestabs.com/Resources/Exercises/Default.aspx

Good Luck All, and let me know if you go to the site if anyone is feeling the workout if you use it!

HI Everyone! Hope that all is going well!
Hi Pollyanna! This is a good challenge for those of us that need the modivation to slim our waist! I have not had a normal waistline in years, and I am looking forward to results! And by August we should all see better, shapelier, waistlines! I hope!

I am going to try today to start, but being a woman is the pitts! I am having and unexpected TOM! So, it is going to put a dampen on the exercising the ab, exspecially when you feel bloated and miserable!
But, I am going to try. I want to do this, and I want to see my waistline again! AND SOON!

Look the site over that I linked, I don't know if it will work, but by the looks of the guys abs, I think I will take his word for it!

Good Luck Girls!
Brenda
YES AND THANKS EGNUE, FOR THINKING OF THIS CHALLENGE AGAIN!

I will dust off my Ab roller, find the video and do it this morning.
Thanks and take care,

Can I join, too?

I've had 6 kids, am at my target weight -- and I've been exercising very regularly -- but the belly area could still see some improvement. At my age (60) I really don't expect to get to a bikini figure -- but the blasted low-rider pants (at least they are a size 6) could look better -- they tend to create a "roll" above the dropped waist.

Question: should I be able to pinch fat/flesh around my belly area? How much? It feels kind of doughy.....

P.S. -- I tried a "new" exercise Saturday -- right now I'm nursing a pulled back muscle.... But as soon as it feels better, I mean to get that exercise worked out, really pulled at my belly, thighs, and back (it's a pilates move, sit then stretch your legs out in the air, toes pointed, and grab your ankles keeping everything straight) -- actaully managed it a couple of times, but I suspect I wasn't ready for it....
