Default no white flour or sugar = Low carbing?

in atkinscenter page i read that teenagers with 20 or less pounds to lose have to quit sugar and white flour and thats it, theyre lowcarbing.
what about potatoes, rice and grains?
do i have to quit that or not?
and fruits and high carb vegetables?

Post Controlled Carbs for teens

Hi there, I don't know where you found what you did on Atkins site,I think you may have misunderstood something. Here is what I come up with as far as teens and low carbing. It definitely advocates controlled carbs.

Teens on Atkins(click here)

Another thing, is maybe adding exercise will help you out, and tone up your body. Often times teenagers will think they need to diet, when exercise will accomplish the toning, and this will help the body get smaller. Anyway, hope this helps you out.

This is just my opinion but people do not tend to overeat potatoes, rice and grains. Sugar and white flour however are a BIG problem for carb addicts.

You would certainly be eating better carbs if you just cut out the sugar and white flour, and probably lower than previously.

As has been said on other threads, don't get hung up on a number like 110. The pounds are just a number on a not-very-accurate mechanical device. Exercise will trim and condition you, as stated above. I sure wish I had become concerned about carbs when I was in the same area of good weight as you are.

By eating protein at all meals along with those starchy foods, you will keep the insulin level from spiking up. That will help your body to lose whatever fat might be excess but give you healthy strong and fit muscles and organs. the weight is NOT as important as how you look and feel.
