Are Advantage shakes allowed on induction??? Im 2 days in and seem to drink 2 a day and still be way low on my carbs... The only other sweets im doing is 1/2 packet of sweet n low in the morning with tea. Am I hurting myself by drinking this?
I think its easy to extra calories when you eat shakes and bars and stuff. If you want a really clean induction to curb the cravings, to really get a great start on weight loss (you'll never lose as fast as you do the first two weeks) then I'd skip the shakes and bars and all the stuff like that and stick to real foods like meat, veggies, nuts, dairy and such.
In DANDR Atkins does have shakes in his induction menu but only twice in one week. Most of your carbs should be coming from veggies, not low carb prepackaged products. I would say shakes are fine, but I also wouldn't tell you to chug down more than one in a day. If you have a lifestyle that you can manage actually making meals and using the shakes as a treat when you are on the run then I would say that would be a much better habit to get into. Either way you decide, goodluck!

Shakes have always been a part of my program...its when I did not drink the shakes as a substitute for BF or snack that my losses slowed... I don't have one every day but I do have a few a week. If it does not hinder your losses...then drink up.
Thanks everyone for the replies... I guess I'll have to see if they stall me or not. I like the idea of going natural anyway just hoped that a shake a day would not hurt.
