Default HELP - Is bok choy the same as pak choi?

Looking for the carb count, and the carb tool on this site doesn't have bok choy. Is it the same as pak choi?

I don't know if they are the same but here's the count from netzer's book for bok choy:
chinese cabbage, bok choy:

raw whole 1 lb 52 cal, 6 prot, 8.7 carb, .8 fat, 257 sodium, 4 fiber

boiled drained shredded (no indication of amount)
10 cal, 1.3 prot, 1.5 carb, .1 fat, 29 sod, 1.4 fiber

They're not exactly the same, but are similar enough that I'm sure their carb counts are VERY similar.

Here is bok choy:

And here is pak choy:

They are great, low carb vegies. Fitday says 1 cup of pak choy has 1.59 carbs, of which 0.73 are fibre.

Fitday has it listed as chinese cabbage if you want to look it up on that.

Nice pictures Rosebud!

The first one is known as plain old bok choy and the second picture is AKA Shanghai bok choy. The Shanghai is only available as a small, baby version because it gets stringy as it gets older. The bok choy can be used either smaller or fully grown.

The bok choy has crisper stems and the Shanghai version is a little softer

Thanks for that tip Karen!

I've seen the baby bok choy (that's what it's labelled as here ) but avoided buying it because I thought it would be stringly like big grown up bok choy That's the main reason I don't really care for this vegetable is the stringiness.
