Default I have....but not just for that reason

Hey -

I've been on Schwarzbein for a few weeks and went off my Armour Thyroid about a week into it. Dr. Scharzbein's recommendation was a factor in my decision, but an even larger factor was that I am a type I diabetic and it was making my morning blood sugars go quite high. This in turn meant I needed more insulin, which, as TSP and other low-carb followers know, is not in the best interest of one's health.

When my doctor put me on the thyroid med, my numbers weren't below the minimum on the scale, but they were right at the bottom and I had all the symptoms (which, after reading TSP could be symptoms of not eating enough protein - previously, I ate very little). I haven't had anything checked again, but the only difference I've noticed is good - my a.m. blood sugars no longer shoot up.

Hope that helps!

Kate

Question

Hello there,

Ive been off my thyroid meds since May 17th. Not by my doing...but my Dr.s. SHe just decided I didnt need the Armour....and left me with no suggestions or solutions for all the problems I was having (hair loss, not sleeping, night sweats....classic hypo symptoms). Then I found this book. Ive been doing this for 3 weeks. I can say I feel better....Im sleeping!!! My moods have improved. Its good to see other hypos here....keep us posted on how you feel.

Stephanie
