Default Nutrition & Metabolism Society: 2008 is the year to separate fact from fiction

  • Where is the science that supports the low carb paradigm shift?
  • What is ketosis? Is ketosis dangerous?
  • How do you know what to believe when it comes to diet & nutrition?
  • Do you want to know more about how diet affects diabetes, CVD, indigestion?
  • What caused the obesity epidemic in this country & what can we do to stop it?
2008 is the year to separate fact from fiction.

The Nutrition & Metabolism Society has recognized the need for answers to these questions and has prepared to launch a drive designed to dispense nutritional information based on scientific research. The NMS operation will promote truth in science and nutritional education based on current facts, to shift the current “low fat = healthy” paradigm to a “low carb = healthy” standard in an effort to promote wellness. The research is available to affect the shift in public awareness of what constitutes a healthy diet. It is our mission to make it accessible and spread the word. Your help is welcomed.

Medical schools are still relying on old science to teach students. Many large health agencies are recommending protocols based on old information. The proportion of obese people and people with diabetes tell us the old protocols do not work. The National Health And Nutrition Examination Surveys show us that as the amount of carbohydrates consumed increases in the US, proportionately, obesity and many diseases increase. The Nutrition and Metabolism Society intends to be the driving force behind dietary change and increased health.

The NMS website will be continuously expanding, and our goal is to provide you with a one stop resource for current research and news concerning diet and health. You will find many helpful resources in the areas of diet, obesity, diabetes, fitness and more. Because we appreciate your interest in health and nutrition and passion for our cause, we would like to offer members of the Low Carber’s Forum a sneak peak at the new website and invite your comments, suggestions and participation. Please let us know how you believe we may improve our efforts to educate the public on the low carb paradigm shift that is in process. We will be continuously adding relevant research, articles and information to the site and your contributions are invited.

You are invited to be a part of the solution.
  • Are you an expert in your field willing to contribute information to the site?
  • A writer with articles of interest you would like to submit for consideration on the site?
  • Do you have a diet success story you are willing to share with readers in an effort to help others?
  • Are you willing to help raise funds to support nutritional research?
  • Do you have an hour or more a week to help with administrative tasks?
  • Have you successfully overcome symptoms of a disease and want to lead a support group to help others do the same?
  • We want to hear from you!

Shop our store. All funds raised are used to further our cause, create public awareness and improve nutrition education. Shopping links on the website will benefit NMS with out costing you one penny extra. In addition to hundreds of national retailers that donate to our non-profit organization each time you link through NMS, you will also find hotels and other service companies that will also donate money – all at no cost to you!

Most importantly, join NMS! Your membership fee is tax deductible. In becoming a member you will be participating in service to several great causes – public health, education and truth in science! The money raised by NMS goes directly to nutritional research and education. You can join the society now by clicking on this link: NMS Membership

Please e-mail your suggestions and comments to: info at nmsociety.org .

Thanks in advance for your interest and your help. We look forward to welcoming you to the Society!

At $100, $50 or $25 dollars I'm not in a position to spend the money right now.

I've donated to them in the past, and I will again. They're a free access online journal, which is rare stuff. They promote real science of low carb. I think they're totally cool.

Scientific research requires money. Billions are spent though corporate and government (our taxes) funding. All the spending, including NIH, is focusing on low-fat, high-carb promotion. So yes, money is a major factor
