Default Mexican Food... The Tasty Killer

Well, I'm glad to say that I've been doing Atkins since the end of March, and have lost plenty of weight, hair and deadly cholesterol as a result. Today I had planned on munching down on a Carnitas plate at a local taco shop for dinner, but some how, the large torilla and creamy refried beans found their damned non-existent hands grasping onto my tounge and throat with a degree of fury not seen since the last time I tried on a pair of size 36 pants . And they were good... Well worth the valiant struggle between desire and practicality. I even felt that side of rice trying to latch on with its poison grasp, but I managed to fend it off. I have no regrets, after today, even though I won't be doing it again. The benefits of this WOE far outweigh some lousy beans and a pile of well organized flour.

Steve,
Have you ever tried the La Tortilla Low Carb tortillas? I've only tried the herb and garlic and they are YUMMY! I occasionally make myself a taco wrap with them. I use ground beef and lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese and sour cream. They are excellent! That may get your mexican food craving out of the way.

Good for you for resisting the rice. The beans aren't *that* bad, when you consider that they have a lot of fiber.

I like to make my own Mexican - a giant taco salad (minus the chips, of course.) Even the b/f likes it.
