Cool I made crunchie crackers..**yahoooo**

I read it somewhere here on the baord so I tried it last night!!

I took a container of FIRM tofu.(don't knock it until you try it..lol)

I sliced it in THIN slices...about 1 inch wide by 2 inches long and thin.

I took out my large non stick frying pan and put a little olive oil.

VERY carefully put your tofu in...one peice at a time. Some will break...but oh well..lol. My heat was on medium. It takes about 10 minutes a side. I didn't turn mine until I could tell the side cooking was nice and brown. When both sideas are brown...keep flipping them every 2 minutes or so until they are hard.

It took about 4 different turns in the frying pan to do the entire container.

I sprinkled garlic powder on some...salt on others. They don't taste like much...but they are CRACKERS!!

This morning I threw a few on my plate with my omlet...to replace toast! I used a few last night with salsa. I don't always want pork rinds.

I also cut up a LITTLE cheddar cheese and had a few cheese and crackers!!!

I think these would be great for soup too!!

The package stated about 0.8 carbs for 1/5 of it...so about 4-5 carbs for the whole thing!!

Who ever posted about these little darlings..."thank~you".

Happy Monday....cin

Cin, I moved this to the Kitchen forum and I removed your duplicate post. Having two threads with the same post can be confusing - reading one thread and answering you do not have the benefit of the replies that were given in the second thread. As most of us use the "view new posts" feature to read the boards all posts get viewed and having this in the "Snacks" subforum will make it easier to find later on.

Cinderella,

I have never cooked with Tofu before. When you say "firm" tofu- is it just firm or is it called "Firm" tofu? Sorry this may sound strange, but I don't know much about Tofu. Also, how many crackers will this make from the package of Tofu?
This sounds good. I really miss having crackers. I love crackers and cheese.

Thanks for the information!

Can you have tofu during induction? I love tuna (can it eat straight out of the can) but I miss having the crackers to go with.

To tell the truth I have always been afraid of tofu - but if it is as good as everyone says - I will try anything for something crispy!! lol
